An Honorable Cowboy
Determined single mother Willow Reames has one goal: to reunite with her sisters and begin a new life with them and her infant son. But when she's unexpectedly stranded in the Montana wilderness—with her siblings nowhere in sight—she needs to rely on the kindness of Johnny Harding. It's more than honor that compels the half Native American cowboy to help the beautiful widow and her adorable baby. The little family evokes his masculine instincts to protect them. Soon woman-wary Johnny is cradling baby Adam in his arms and offering to assist Willow in finding her missing sisters. As their hearts slowly thaw, can Johnny convince Willow to trust him with the secret she's keeping so, just maybe, they can have a future together? Montana Cowboys: These brothers live and love by the code of the West
Trust and forgiveness is on the line, as Johnny and Willow get to know each other, while searching for her sisters in Montana.
I enjoyed Johnny and Willow, and baby Adam, together. The connection they have is instant, at least from Johnny's side. And mostly, at first, with Adam. Those two recognised something in each other immediately, that forced a strong bond between them. Not so fast forming, but as strong as anything, was also the bond between Willow and Johnny. Being the honorable, kind man that he is, Johnny can't turn his back on her, while she obviously needs help. The journey they take together is filled with worry, dangers, and pitfalls. The worry for Willow's sisters, the menace of the men on the road, and so much adversity, while trying to start the new life. Mostly they are tested in their faith in God, and trust, that He is in charge, and sees their future, and the big picture, even while they are not able to. The forgiveness for themselves, for those who have wronged them in the past, and learning to leave it in the past, are all lessons both Johnny and Willow, as well as Willow's sisters, have relearn couple times. This story has a strong and definite message, that is easy to suit to one's own life as well. The tale takes us through in a gentle way, the growth and cultivation of the characters, their maturation in faith to God, and learning to trust again, in themselves, their feelings, and each other, while forming a beautiful family of the heart ~ Four Spoons

Heart Like Mine
Echo Lake #2 By: Maggie McGinnis Releasing April 5, 2016 St. Martin’s Press
Delaney Blair loves her job at Echo Lake's Mercy Hospital, where she's developed a reputation for being smart, fair, and driven. When she's assigned to cut funding, she has to temporarily relocate her office, put on borrowed scrubs, and go toe-to-toe with Dr. Joshua Mackenzie, the interim head of the pediatrics department. His killer smile and rock-star body are distractions Delaney could do without, but she's determined to stay focused while she brings his budget into line.
It's not working. Beloved by his colleagues and patients alike, Josh is too busy caring for sick kids to talk numbers with the sexy, stiletto-clad Delaney. Every time they talk business, tensions run high…but so does a powerful attraction neither of them can ignore. When an emergency brings Mercy to its knees, Delaney and Josh must work together to save lives. But can they also find a way into each other's hearts?
“You’re just going to have to go down there, Delaney.” Megan propped a hip on Delaney’s desk two days later.
Delaney envied her assistant’s long skirt, gypsy earrings, and long, loose cotton blouse. In college, she’d have topped it off with a head scarf and combat boots, but for the workplace, she’d gone with her standard-issue leather sandals. Delaney looked down at her own outfit and wondered when she’d turned into a toned-down version of her country club mother. Her neatly ironed blouse was set off by a perfectly matched skirt and jacket, and as she fingered the pearls at her throat, she sighed. Then she let her eyes coast down her calves, down to the Jimmy Choos she’d bought just last month. It was her splurge, her bow to girliness and inappropriate spending, and damn, she loved these shoes. She really did need to ditch the pearls, though. “I can’t just go down there, Megan.” Delaney felt a tingle at the base of her neck, just thinking of walking onto the pediatric floor. No, she definitely couldn’t go down there. “Well, he’s obviously not coming to you.” “How can he just ignore my messages like this? It’s downright rude.” “Or he’s downright busy. Have you seen the bed count on pediatrics this week?” “No.” Delaney cringed. It wasn’t the kind of thing she kept track of on a daily basis. “There is always the possibility that he’s not intentionally ignoring you. Just saying.” “I’ll check.” Delaney clicked into the system that listed current inpatient numbers. When she got to the pediatric floor, her eyes widened. “Holy—” “Exactly.” Megan raised her eyebrows. “We don’t even have that many pediatric beds.” “I know. They had to move a couple of the teenagers up to adult floors to make space.” Delaney clicked back through the past month, and the patient counts went up and down a little bit, but not much. “I’m just saying—this could be why Dr. Mackenzie hasn’t called back.” Megan leaned close to Delaney and plucked open her top button. “Which means you, third floor, this afternoon. He’s clearly isn’t coming to you.” Delaney felt the chills creep down her spine. She had never actually been on Mercy’s pediatric floor—had never been on any pediatric floor—not since Parker had died. “Delaney? You okay?” Megan’s brow creased as she studied Delaney’s face. “You are six shades of white, girl. Does talking to non-executive-suite people make you this scared?” “No.” Delaney’s voice came out in a whisper. “Oh.” Megan’s hand flew to her mouth. “Oh, God. I’m sorry.” She squeezed her eyes shut. “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking.” Delaney nodded slowly. “It’s okay. It’s been—a long time since he died. Not like you would think of it.” “But I should have. I’m really sorry.” Megan tried to look into her eyes, but Delaney’s felt all shifty. “Do you want me to go with you?” “No, Meg. I don’t want to go at all.” “But—” “I know. He’s not coming to me.” She took a deep breath, blowing it out slowly. Maybe it wouldn’t be horrible. Maybe she wouldn’t melt into a panic-puddle at the elevator doors. Maybe she wouldn’t see Parker everywhere she looked. Maybe pigs flew.

This sexy rancher is her best friend…but can he be more? Only from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates!
She’s just one of the boys, but with a new business in Copper Ridge, Anna Brown needs to change that. Her brothers bet she can’t land a date for a fancy charity event. So Anna turns to her best friend—the hottest bachelor in town—for advice. Rancher Chase McCormack wants in on that gala. If Anna takes him, he promises to turn her into a lady. But the makeover reveals what he’s long suspected—Anna’s irresistible! Is his best friend prepared to be taken—heart, body and soul—by her very own cowboy?
Hold on to your hearts, folks, this story is going to take it for a ride.
For fifteen years, they had been best friends, pressing the feelings of 'more' under a heavy lock and key. But now, because of a bet, because of a business possibility, they are pretending to be more, and somehow realise, they could be everything. I love the friends to lovers themes in the stories, there's always more into the relationship, when the characters have known each other for years, better than anyone else, and now are becoming even more than that. Chase and Anna have been each other's support pillar since high school. They have gone through so much in life, loss, suffering, and growth. They have always had each other, but never in a physical way. And now, that everything is changing, the chance to lose each other puts them into the biggest pressure and test of their relationship. I love how the author uses the words to paint the picture of the events so clear and vivid, you can see it all unfold in your mind. Chase and Anna have something beautiful and rare in their lives, they have a best friend. In each other. But now those feelings are expanding, getting even deeper, getting to be more, and the whole roll-a-coaster they go through, as they struggle with the change in their relationship, as they learn to know each other in a new way, as they see each other with a different eye, and accept the love they have for each other, just as they are, it is a wild ride without a safety belt. The story is emotional, passionate, and poignant. The love scenes are amorous, and filled with feelings. The road they have to take, to find the courage to face their feelings, and freely admit the love they have for each other, is rocky and turbulent, but also tender, loving, and sweet. ~ Four Spoons
Those law-enforcing Cavanaughs are back in USA TODAYbestselling author Marie Ferrarella's sizzling series!
After losing two partners in the line of duty, major crimes detective Davis Gilroy isn't about to get close to his new one. Especially when that partner is an optimistic blonde beauty with killer curves. Davis will do his job, keep a close eye on detective Moira Cavanaugh and not let her get under his skin. But when someone starts disturbing old graves in local cemeteries, he and Moira work long nights to solve the macabre mystery. Suddenly Davis finds himself caring too much about the strong, sexy woman who always has his back…and is gaining on his heart.
For a person who is afraid of zombies, to investigate a possible crime happening on the graveyard, takes more than guts, it takes the stubbornness of a Cavanaugh.
I love great banter between characters in the stories, and here it is top notch. Moira and Davis has the most peculiar relationship, they bring the worst out of each other, they drive each other nuts, but they work well as a team, they are drawn to each other, attracted to each other, and even have fun together. And when, after a lot of bickering and lots of denial, they finally end up together, it is torrid. The love scene is so well written, romantic, and passionate, I noticed I was actually holding my breath, while reading it. Just perfectly swoon worthy and incredibly beautiful, overwhelming scene. The mystery Moira and Davis are in the process of solving is interesting, it has couple dangerous moments, and many enigmas solved. In the story, the relationship is developing while the crimes are being investigated, and the deepening feelings and learning to trust and work with each other, is on the front and center of the tale. As for the series followers, there's a great Cavanaugh party, of course, where some of the favorite characters, and few new ones, visit as well. Pure entertainment, I enjoyed reading it, for suspense fans, this is a great series to follow! ~ Four Spoons
Going All The Way
Knights of Passion #1 By: Megan Ryder Releasing April 6, 2016 Tule Publishing
He’s looking for redemption.
After destroying his reputation, Jason Friar is desperate to make a comeback in Major League Baseball. The only team who will have him is the perennial cellar dwellers, the Georgia Knights, who are looking for a leader for their struggling team. With the contract comes a leash, held by a sexy image consultant with whom he had a hot fling... She’s looking for respect. After being blamed for the collapse of a political candidate’s campaign, Stacia Kendall needs a new opportunity to prove herself to her father, a prominent and powerful Senator. Her one chance is to redeem the image of Jason Friar and not succumb to the heat simmering between them, a heat she knows so well... Can Stacia help Jason find the redemption he needs, while protecting her heart?
Jason leaned back in the booth and sipped his scotch, as the woman from the bar made a path for him. The woman was pretty enough, a killer body revealed by skin tight jeans, thick wavy auburn hair that had caught his attention earlier, and sexy green eyes laser focused on him. A few seconds later, she stood next to the booth, a hint of challenge in the tilt of her chin.
"Anyone sitting here?" He obligingly slid further into the booth and gestured next to him. "You are, darling." "Pretty sure of yourself, aren't you?" she almost purred. "You came over to me, darling. So I'm thinking things are looking up." She pressed her leg against him, heat burning through the denim, reminding him of his year-long celibacy. His cock stirred, awakening a hunger deep inside. A slow, sensual burn spread from his groin in anticipation of the possibilities ahead. The perfect recreation before signing his fucking degrading contract tomorrow, selling his life, his career, and his soul. But for this one last night, he could do what he wanted. A blonde woman slid into the booth on his other side, pinning him between the two women, her eyes shooting daggers at him. It had been awhile since he'd had two women, but the way the second one was skewering him with her gaze, he doubted she was on board with a threesome. Stranger things used to happen with groupies. But he wasn't that guy anymore, at least not after tomorrow. Had to pay the fucking bills and if it meant sacrificing his pride, he'd do it for one last shot.

Award-winning author Theresa Rizzo delivers a thrilling crime novel packed with suspense, romance, and redemption.
The Scarfilis and Donnatellis love deeply and protect fiercely. “Family takes care of family” is the code they live by. So when a hacker threatens Gianna Donnatelli’s life, Dr. Joe Scarfili is determined to keep her safe, only he has no police or tech experience, and Gianna’s penchant for aiding Detroit’s underprivileged is the same kind of altruism that got his wife killed. Gianna protects Joe with the same unyielding resolve. Gianna pushes all his insecurity buttons. Joe tries her patience like no other. But together they’ll fight to save each other and their love… Or die trying.
When family means more than just the blood line in between you, and can be your greatest asset, or worst enemy...
I read a lot of romantic suspense, and I love fast paced action on them. This story has lots of crimes committed, drive by shootings, car bombs, breaking ins, assaults, you name it. But the way the story is built, it is more about solving a riddle, or finding the correct pieces of the puzzle, instead of action. The Russian mafia, the Italian mafia, the gangs and dangerous of Detroit, it is all involved. And since both Gianna and Joe come from money, or from families with a comfortable lifestyle, and Gianna about to make it big with her invention in the medical world, there are lots of potential suspects, when the attacks come close to home, and their lives, and the lives of their family members, are in danger. I liked the story, I think the plot was greatly thought out, with surprises, and unexpected twists, and turns. The story had a nice flow, and it was well written. I think it could have moved on a bit faster, the slow tempo of the story ate a lot of the intensity of the action and crime, leaving the suspense only lukewarm for me. The story could have been compressed a bit, at least in the beginning, in my opinion. Joe and Gianna were well built characters, they had their strengths, and weaknesses, they had clear temperament, and both were likeable. Gianna's attraction towards Joe came loud and clear from the beginning, and had a humorous side to it, as well as the desperation she had felt since a young girl. Joe's attraction came later on, but with palpable force, even though he made a good effort to fight it. I liked them together, there was something very much like 'home' in their interactions with each other. The relationship they had to work on, to hold it together, and the love that grew from the passion, friendship, and years of knowing each other, with a strong side of protectiveness, was something special. Some of the secondary characters I wasn't a fan of, but they gave a great deal of spice into the tale. Interesting mystery, with a clustered mix of the mafia, gangs of Detroit, medical and technology world, well thought out and researched plot, and passionate forever kind of love ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Romantic Suspense
Date Published: February 2, 2015 Finbar Donahue, former Army Ranger, walked on the wild side in Iraq, but now he lives in the shadows. After his evasive partner, Les, was shot in a random drive-by, Finn discovers cash is siphoned monthly. He fights to keep his investment company afloat. When the late partner’s girlfriend, Amy Kintyre, applies for his bookkeeping job, Finn suspects she knows about his company drain and hires her. Amy needs a nine-to-five with free evenings and weekends to get her fashion design business back on track. She unearths Les’ s secret bank account and alerts Finn. Freezing of the money laundering account sets off havoc within an Irish gang. Amy witnesses a gang fight between a brutal ISIS fundraising organization and the Irish. Desperate to escape a stalker’s crosshairs, she seeks refuge with Finn. As danger heats up, sparks fly hotter. Les is alive. After cheating the Irish mob, he became their target. Mistaken identity took the life of his disabled twin brother. Now Les makes another deal—trading Amy and stolen drugs for their forgiveness. Stakes are high as Finn tracks assassins across the San Bernardino Mountains. If he gets her back, can he trust her?
Something unexpected and very sinister is going on, as rival gangs and terrorist groups fight for power, with Finn and Amy right in the middle of it.
The suspense is high, constant, and intense in the story, as the events start to unfold. The crimes are very much today's headlines, with terrorist groups, sex slaves, faked death, betrayals, and more. Everything that is happening, seems to be somehow involved Amy and Finn, if in not another way, then as an eye witness. They both have a delightfully sarcastic tone, and skeptical outlook, as they run from one incident to the other, while trying to solve the mystery of someone stealing money from Finn's company. But like saying, it all seems to be connected. The attraction between Finn and Amy is distinct, from the lust filled thoughts with the passionate action, as they fulfill their desires. What starts as a one night stand, develop into more, and feelings start to muddy it all up. The dialog is, especially at the beginning of the book, in need of some finesse, it's at times missing the natural flow of the conversation, and feels stony. The plot is intriguing, and filled with the unexpected. The suspense is energetic, and endless. The lust filled attraction gets credible, as more feelings are in the picture, and Finn and Amy find themselves falling for each other. Interesting, very much up to date, suspense ~ Three Spoons

My Perfect Mistake
Over the Top #1 By: Kelly Siskind Releasing April 5, 2016 Forever Yours
What happens in Aspen is definitely not staying in Aspen . . .
A girls' trip to Aspen was exactly what Shay needed to forget about her toxic ex-boyfriend. She's got her girls, pristine slopes for skiing, and hot guys everywhere. Of course, her epic self-rediscovery goes completely to hell when a wild (and deliciously hot) skier knocks Shay on her ass . . . and war is declared. Kolton doesn't know what it is about Shay that makes him lose it. Not just his cool---although she does have an unholy gift for that---but his restraint. When anger gives way to explosive chemistry, they're both shaken with the intensity of it. But somewhere between lust and hate, Kolton and Shay realize they could have something real . . . if they don't kill each other first.
He tosses me my anti-sexy helmet. “We should take another run before we head down.”
I catch it and shake my head, unsure I heard him right. “Sorry, we? Shouldn’t you be skiing with your buddies? It’s bad enough you hijacked my lunch and I have to sit at a table with you again tonight. Now you want to ski together? Thanks but no thanks.” He lifts his arms over his head and stretches from side to side. A sliver of skin peeks out below his jacket. “The guys called it quits early. Worried you can’t keep up?” As fucking if. The dude’s obviously egging me on, but he snaps my self-control. Everything between us is action, reaction. Spark and flame. What’s his deal, anyway? Why sit with me and ski with me when we’re worse than cats and dogs? If he thinks firing me up means he’s getting a replay of last night, he’s mistaken. Still, I need to beat his ass on the slopes. “Fine. I’ll take that run. It’s about time I put you in your place. But let’s be clear. We can have lunch and ski together, but there will be no sex.” A teen walking by stops midstride and doubles over in a fit of giggles. “I didn’t catch that.” Kolton leans forward and cups a hand around his helmeted ear. “Do you mind speaking up?” What a total douche. “Everyone is wise until he speaks,” I mumble, recalling my granddad’s words. Kolton straightens, a question passing across his face. “Are you Irish? My granddad used to say that all the time. Along with, ‘Shut your mouth and eat your dinner.’” I laugh, abrupt and maniacal, the sharp sound catching me off guard. The energy shifts between us, like the first time I understood my Spanish teacher—the foreign becoming familiar. I frown, unsure I want Kolton to feel familiar. “Yeah, I am. The first curse I learned was feckin’ arse, and I’d kind of like to use it now.” He smiles to himself, as though we’re friends who would sit and talk and laugh about our shared upbringing. Ruffled, I cram my helmet on, get geared up, and try to stomp out of the lodge all look out, buddy, but with the boots and Martian head, it’s a fail. Skis on and goggles down, we race to the lift. He arrives first, making like he’s been waiting forever with a dramatic yawn. I roll my eyes and push past him. The lift line is empty, so it’s just him and me on the four-person chair. “Mind not doing that?” he says partway up as I swing my skis. The chair sways in response, and I rock my legs harder. “This?” His olive skin grays. “Yeah. That.” He leans his elbows on the safety bar and closes his eyes. If he pukes, I’ll likely toss my cookies, too. When my brother got food poisoning from China House’s all-you-can-eat buffet, it wasn’t pretty. I hadn’t eaten a thing there, but the second he threw up, I proceeded to reenact that pie eating scene from Stand by Me: projectile vomit, solid stream, fire hydrant force. I still my skis and stop bouncing. We pass one supporting tower, then another, before he opens his eyes. “You regretting that lunch?” I ask, smirking. He flexes his hands, and the poles dangling from his wrists knock around. “No. I’m regretting getting on this chair with you.” Such a charmer.
A small-town girl at heart, Kelly Siskind moved from the city to open a cheese shop with her husband in Northern Ontario.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire
Bayou Billionaires #3 By: Catherine Mann Releasing April 1st, 2016 (Ebook) Releasing April 5, 2016 (Print) Harlequin
Is it a real reunion, or one for the cameras? It's a second-chance romance from USA TODAY bestselling author Catherine Mann!
Football star Henri Reynaud won't let his career go down without a fight. If the only way to win is to reconcile with his estranged wife, he'll do what it takes. But spending time with Fiona Harper-Reynaud isn't just some ruse. The sultry beauty belongs in his bed. Fiona doesn't know where her sexy husband's public act ends and his real feelings begin. Can she afford to fall a second time for the man every female wants? One thing is undeniable—their attraction has never flared hotter!
Henri took risks in his job on a regular basis. Sure, his teammates worked their asses off to prevent a hard tackle from his blindside. But he understood and accepted that every time he stepped onto the field, he could suffer a career ending injury.
Fans called him brave. Sports analysts labeled him sometimes reckless. The press branded him as fearless. They were all wrong. He’d been scared as hell every day since the doctors declared Fiona had inherited her family’s cancer gene. It didn’t matter that their marriage had been on the rocks. He’d been rocked to his foundation. Still was. Henri clenched her shoulders so his hands wouldn’t shake. Even the smallest touch between them was filled with tension. And not in the way that made him weak in the knees. “Your zipper?” With a will of their own, his eyes took in the long line of her neck, exposed with her dark hair corralled by a thin braid so that long, loose curls cascaded in a narrow path down her back. He looked further, down her spine skimmed by those curls and to the small of her back that called to him to touch, to kiss. But he’d lost the right. She’d made that clear when he’d tried to reconcile after the doctor’s prognosis. “Thank you, yes please,” she said, glancing over her shoulder nervously and pulling her hair aside. He hated seeing that sort of distance in her eyes. “I’m running late because of, uhm, a last minute snafu with the caterer.” “Adelaide said you were having trouble with your car so I came home early. But I see it’s in the garage. What was wrong?” Whipping her head away from his gaze, she muttered, “Doesn’t matter.” It was becoming her trademark response. It didn’t matter. That was a lie. He could tell it in the way her mouth thinned as she spoke. Letting out a deep sigh, his eyes traced over their room. Or should he say—their former room. He’d taken to sleeping in the guest bedroom of the restored home. Away from her. They’d even lost the ability to lie next to each other at night. To show up for each other in that simple way. In front of him was the first gift he’d ever bought Fiona. It was a handsome jewelry armoire that doubled as a full length mirror. It was a one-of-a-kind vintage piece. Whimsical and light. Just like Fiona in her beautiful, jewel colored dress. Looking at the gilded mirror with his exquisite wife framed in its reflection reminded him of how far they’d fallen. Damn. This whole room was a mausoleum to what was. He wanted her to lean on him. Even if it was just a little bit. This wasn’t what he wanted. “Anything else I can do to help?” “I’ve got it under control.” Finality colored her words. “You always do.” It came out harsher than he intended. But damn it, he was trying. Couldn’t she see that? She spun around to face him, her petite frame filling with rigid rage with the silk of her gown whirled against his shins. Raising her chin and her brow, she pressed her lips tight, primly. “No need to be snarky.” Sticking his hands in his suit pants, he shrugged, his silk tee under his jacket as soft as her touch. “I am completely serious.” Fiona’s deep brown eyes softened. She took a deep breath and stared at him. A breeze stirred the stale air of the room, filtering through the window with the sounds of foot traffic and car horns. It was a grounding sound, reminding him of when they’d first bought this house and when they’d been a team. They’d spent hours restoring the old house. And they’d done it together. They’d built this house into a home. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to start a fight. Adelaide was a huge help during a really long day. Let’s just get through the evening. It’s harder and harder to pretend there’s nothing wrong between us.” Something was off with her today, but he couldn’t tell what. Clear enough though, she was trying to pick a fight with him. “I don’t want to fight with you.” He didn’t know what the hell he wanted anymore other than for to have things the way they were. “You used to love a good argument with me. Only me. You get along with everyone else. I never understood that.” “We had fire, you and I.” It had been a sizzling love. One that warmed him to his damn core. And he knew there was still a spark in the embers. He couldn’t believe it was all gone. “Had, Henri. That’s my point. It’s over and you need to quit making excuses to delay the final step.” Ferocity returned to her fairy-like features. A warrior in blue silk and sequins. “Not excuses. You needed to recover. Then we agreed we wouldn’t upset the season starting. Then with my brother’s wedding on the horizon--” “Excuses. Divorce isn’t the end of the world.” She pinned up a curl that had escaped the confines of the delicate braid binding the others into place. Everything about her these days was carefully put together so that no one saw a hint of the turmoil beneath. For months he’d respected that. Understood she was the one calling the shots with her health issues. But how could she deny herself any help? Ever? She’d made it clear he didn’t know how to be the least bit of assistance. And now, divorce was the recurring refrain. “Our family is in the spotlight. A split between us would eat up positive oxygen in the press.” He needed her to take a deep breath. They needed to figure out everything. He needed to stall. She turned back around, using the mirror to smooth her dress. “No one is going to think poorly of you for leaving me. I will make it clear I’m the one who asked for the divorce.” Anger boiled, flushing his cheeks. “I don’t give a damn what people think about me.” “But you do care about your team. I understand.” He picked up on the implication of her words. That he didn’t care about her. And that couldn’t be farther off-base. She was still trying to pick a fight. To widen the gap between them. “We’re going to be late.” The tone of his voice was soft. Almost like a whisper. He wanted to calm her down, to stop this from turning into an unnecessary fight. Something was upsetting her. Something major. As much as he wanted to understand her, he couldn’t. The party was about to start and he didn’t have the time to unwrap the subtle meaning of all of her words. All he wanted was to have their old life back. For her to look at him like she used. To be a team again. For their relationship to be uncomplicated like it once was. Tapping the back of her dress, he met her gaze in the mirror. Settling his hands back on her shoulder, he breathed against her ear and neck. “Unless you would like me to take the zipper back down again.”

So when she runs into him one night, she's shocked to realize he was her shy, nerdy junior-prom date. But that isn't where the surprises end . . . James Abell needs a date to his sister's wedding. So when Kate agrees, he's relieved . . . until one little lie turns their wedding date into a full-blown fake relationship. Only it doesn't feel fake-not the toe-curling kisses and definitely not the electricity. Neither of them is looking for something real . . . but they just might fall for their own little white lie.
Kate stared at herself in the mirror.
This is just pretend. What was wrong with her? She’d spent all week fortifying her internal defenses. When he’d offered to bring her dinner or keep her company, she’d assured him Beth was taking good care of her. Now, with only a few words from Margaret, she’d let herself slip back into fantasy. A fantasy where she could kiss James whenever she wanted. Where his strong arms held her at night. A tremor passed through her. No! She was stronger than this. She needed to convince his family and the other guests they were dating, not herself. She tore her eyes from the bathroom mirror and unzipped the garment bag that hung from the shower curtain rod. She shimmied into the blue lace dress. She had to admit, Ainsley had been right about it. The fabric skimmed over her body and showed precisely the right amount of leg. Or it would, once she got it zipped. She twisted and turned and wiggled, but couldn’t reach the zipper. Crap. She had to ask James for help. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door leading back to the hotel room. “I’m dressed.” His deep voice sent goose bumps over her skin. She cracked the door and poked her head through. “I hate to ask you this, but I’m stuck. I need you to zip me up. Please.” He kept his attention on the cufflink he was hooking through his button hole. “Sure.” She only hesitated for a moment before she stepped from the bathroom and spun, to give him access to her back. There was a zipping sound as his fingers skated over the fabric. She exhaled sharply. There. It was over. She turned back to him. “Thank you. I’ll be ready in one minute. I have to find my necklace first.” “You look amazing.” James' voice caught as he stared at her, his eyes a vivid, brilliant gray. Kate couldn’t tear herself away from him. His gaze pierced her, suspending her in time and space. He stepped toward her, curled his palm around the back of her neck and lowered his mouth to hers. A delicious tingle surged through her blood and down to her toes as their lips met. He snaked his other arm around her waist and pulled her against him as his tongue swept into her mouth. She tilted her head back and gave herself over to him, reveling in the feel of his lips against hers. His kiss turned rougher, more urgent. Her knees went weak and her head swam as she clutched him. Her tongue tangled with his, matching him stroke for stroke. All rational thought fled her mind and she was engulfed in a cloud of James: his smell, his taste, his touch. He pulled back for a second and his eyes glinted as he traced his thumb over her cheek. Then he tightened his grip around her waist and took the fullness of her lower lip in his mouth. A tiny moan escaped her as he sucked gently. With every stroke of his tongue, her body melted further into his. His fingers dug into her back and she could feel his heart pound through his dress shirt. A knock sounded on the door and she stepped back abruptly, breaking the kiss. His eyes burned with an intensity that sucked all the air from her lungs. She shifted her gaze to the floor. No one had ever kissed her like that.

Wrapped In You
The Monroes #1 By: Jules Bennett Releasing March 29, 2016 Zebra
The Monroe brothers found a home in Haven, Georgia, thanks to the big-hearted couple who adopted them all. Now, grieving their late sister, these three very different men will come together to honor her memory. And with the help of some unforgettable women, each will find the chance to build a whole new future…
Zach Monroe has made mistakes—big ones. The worst left the girl he loved injured, and his own brother barely speaking to him. It was a night Zach won’t let himself forget, even when the girl in question—perfect, polished Sophie Allen—walks back into his life. A realtor, Sophie’s brought an offer for their sister’s dilapidated Civil War era property. But Zach’s determined to renovate the rambling old place himself—though he longs to rebuild Sophie’s trust in him… A business deal isn’t how Sophie wanted to approach Zach after all this time, but he won’t let anyone get personal. She can’t deny that the accident changed her life in irreparable ways. But watching gruff, quiet Zach beat himself up year after year hurts too. The wounded boy she once adored needed love, and the man is no different. Now Sophie will need every bit of her resolve to convince Zach to let love heal them both…
“We’re in here,” Sophie called as she crossed her office to greet the new guest.
Folding his arms over his chest, Zach kept his eyes on the floor. Focusing on his scuffed work boots against the pristine white carpeting was far better than seeing Sophie’s limp as she left the room. “Wow. This must be something major for you to show up.” Zach glanced toward the door at his younger brother, Braxton. “I have no idea what we were called in for.” Braxton sank into the chair across from Sophie’s desk. “You gonna have a seat?” “I’m fine.” On his feet, he was one step closer to the exit, right where he preferred. Looking closer at Sophie’s office area gave him an insight into her life, her personality, whether he wanted to learn more or not. She obviously loved the color yellow. She also had an eye for art, if the pencil sketches randomly displayed were any indicator. The sketches of landscapes and old homes and buildings were so detailed. Before he could study the artwork much more, the bell chimed for a third time. Perfect. The final piece to this missing, awkward puzzle had arrived. Let the party of anger and shouting begin. Sophie led Liam in. Liam froze as his eyes landed on Zach. “What’s going on?” Zach forced himself not to look away from the scar running down the side of Liam’s face. So much pain in this room, pain that none of them would discuss. “I need to talk to you guys about the property Chelsea left you.” Sophie skirted around her desk and took a seat. Lacing her fingers over the rich wood top, she eyed all three men. “I apologize for not telling you all on the phone what was going on. I figured if I told Liam that Zach was coming, or vice versa, you all would find an excuse not to be here, and I needed all three of you in the same room.” “What’s so important with the property?” Liam asked, taking the seat by Braxton. They’d still not decided what to do with that monstrosity of a home on the edge of town. Their sister had bought it at a good price because it needed so much work, but Zach never did know what her true intentions were for the Civil War–era mansion. Just a month ago he, Braxton, and Liam had been informed they were not only the new owners, per Chelsea’s will, they also owed the back taxes Chelsea had failed to pay. Perhaps it was a good thing Sophie called this little meeting, considering the brothers needed to figure out the tax issue and decide what to do with the property. “The city council is interested in buying the estate,” Sophie went on. “They want to turn the main house and the two smaller cottages on the property into a museum and tourist attraction. With being so close to Savannah, and all the historical value of the home, they’re positive it will pull in more tourists.” Zach snorted. Whatever his sister had wanted to do with the home was a mystery, but he sure as hell knew she wouldn’t want a museum. An old, stuffy museum was the total opposite of his free-spirited, fun sister. Beyond that, there was no way in hell Zach would sell to anyone associated with the mayor. He glanced at Braxton, trying to gauge his brother’s reaction to this news. Anytime the mayor’s name was brought up, Zach cringed for Braxton. Betrayal ran deep in this family. “We haven’t discussed what we’re doing with it yet,” Braxton said through gritted teeth. Sophie offered one of her signature sweet smiles. “I understand this is a difficult position. I really am just trying to help you guys get out from under such a burden.” Zach waited for Braxton to say something more, or even for Liam to jump to his defense. When both remained quiet, Zach chimed in. “We need to pay the taxes first.” “Actually, if you sell the home, the taxes would come out of the amount of the sale.” Sophie opened a folder and slid a paper out. “This is what the city is willing to pay for the place. It’s a good price. The taxes and mortgage would be paid off.” Zach didn’t move from his spot against the wall. Hell, he was still grieving. How could he think about facts and figures right now? Facts and figures proposed by a man who had stabbed Braxton in the back only a few short years ago. “Looks good to me,” Liam said after looking at the paper. He settled back into his chair and crossed an ankle over his knee. “I’m fine with selling, but Braxton needs to okay this.” Silent, Braxton still studied the numbers. Whatever emotional turmoil Braxton struggled with, the man was always business first. More than likely Braxton was pushing back that slice of pain and crunching numbers in his head. Zach, on the other hand, didn’t need to see the paper. “I’m not okay with this.” The words were out of Zach’s mouth before he thought to keep them in. Someone needed to stand up for Braxton and for what Chelsea would’ve wanted. “We can’t decide this second to sell. There’s too much to think about and we need to sit down and discuss this privately.” Without turning, Liam snorted. “When the hell have you ever thought about a decision? You rush into everything.” The barb hit home, but Zach wasn’t about to dredge up their past here. Or ever, if he could help it. “Martin has convinced the mayor to offer a very generous amount.” Sophie stared at him across the room. Apparently thinking he was crazy. “You don’t want to sit on this.” Zach didn’t give a shit what her boyfriend Martin had done or how generous the mayor’s offer was. Both were assholes as far as Zach was concerned. Even though Zach was currently working on a project for the city, the project he was near completing was all business. This deal that Sophie was proposing on their behalf was crossing into the personal territory. Beyond Braxton’s hatred for Mayor Stevens, Chelsea loved that property and it had been her dream to own it someday. How could they just sell?

A DIFFERENT KIND OF HERO
Everyone knows Victor Vicario—he's the scarred loner who's on his way to the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas. But no one knows about the guilt that drives him. And until he achieves his goal, there's no room in his life for attachments. So when Vic is given temporary custody of his young nephew, he is torn. He can't turn his back on family, but how can he look after a kid when he's traveling the rodeo circuit? Then he runs into feisty barrel racer Tanya McGee and makes her an offer. She helps him with Alex, and he'll pay her rodeo expenses. The problem is their little "family" starts to feel all too real.
Driven by guilt, and the ghost of his past, Victor's life gets turned upside down, by a little boy, and the one woman who doesn't see his scars.
There's a raw taste of real life in this story, life hasn't been a fairy tale either Victor or Tanya. Tanya left her cheating husband, was in a serious accident, and after gruelling physical therapy, she's back at the rodeo again. Victor's beginning of life was rough by any means of measurement. He survived, many didn't. His guilty feelings of past events had driven him into the rodeo road, and he knows he has to win the championship, to be able to get redemption. The loneliness of the road drew them together, but as soon as the euphoria of the night in between the sheets cools off, there are complications, a roadblock Victor never thought of, little Alex needs a guardian. I enjoyed how real, true to life, things get into the story. Life isn't easy, there are things that happen that no one plans ahead, and circumstances beyond our control take place. Victor is a true hero, even though he would never say, or see, it himself. Under the gruff behavior, is a man with a heart of gold. His caring of Alex, the way they bond, slowly getting to know each other, and learning about each other, is heartwarming. Tanya and Victor might not start their relationship in the best possible way, and their circumstances might not be perfect, but the connection is real, the attraction is palpable, and they are making the best out of the situation they find themselves in. How they both are making the effort for Alex's sake, and form a family unit, is commendable, and rather adorable at times. The story also gets more into the sport side of rodeo, giving a real picture of the competition, the danger of injury, long drives, hectic travelling, lonely nights in the motels or on the road, homeless lifestyle, that seems somehow addictive to those taking part in it. Specific, actual rodeo life on the road, where loneliness draw two people together, but it is love that holds them tied to each other. Where family is a matter of heart, and forgiveness and redemption are a matter of asking for it. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
One fateful night four years ago, Destiny Rose Porter gave in to her desires and ended up with a shattered heart. A heart that, with time, learned to heal and guard itself. But when Jefferson James Briggs returns to their small hometown of Wishing Well, Texas, memories of that unforgettable night come back with him....
JJ Briggs knew he had started something he couldn't finish four years ago. But now, he was back to set it right. The sexy Major League pitcher never forgot about his fiery redhead. The love and passion he felt for his “Pip” never faded. They say old wounds cut deep...will JJ be able to heal the pain he caused all those years ago? Or will history repeat itself, keeping his Destiny just out of reach? The story is scorching hot, fun, full of small town lively energy, and so romantic, with constantly swoon worthy moments that make you sigh... The connection JJ and Destiny have is undeniable, the ribbing between them is entertaining, the understanding of each other, trust, and desire is rare and raw. The story is told in first person point of view, by both Destiny and JJ. Even though that is not my favorite POV in the books, the author has done, once again, an amazing job with it, giving a deep, insightful, and honest view to the thoughts and hopes of the lovers, as they are trying to find the road to each others arms, the forever kind of way. The honesty between them is so fresh, complete, and true. And that road is not as easy as one would think, but they both know what they want, they both are not afraid to go after it, and after several clumsy attempts, they seem to have found the correct path, until the next roadblock. The emotions are so strong, the will is unwavering. I loved watching these two grow, and get deep into their love, desires, feelings, and affections. The characters of the small town are humorous and delightful, Grandma Dixie is so charming. Like always in Melanie Shawn's stories, the friends are the true, there for you, the kinds you want to call your BFF, and spent the lifetime with, sharing joy, sorrow, and laughter. Great start for the new series, I am looking forward to more of sweet, sexy, and scrumptious stories from Wishing Well, Texas! ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
A Better Man
Sunshine Creek Vineyard #1 By: Candis Terry Releasing March 29, 2016 Avon
In Candis Terry’s first novel in her Sunshine Creek Vineyard series, the handsome Kincade brothers convene to rescue their legacy-but the last thing they expect to find is love….
Sooner or later… Hockey star Jordan Kincade wasted no time ditching Sunshine Creek for the NHL, but his sports career has overshadowed everything else-a truth Jordan confronts when his parents’ deaths bring him home. Now his little sister Nicki is flunking out of school, and only one teacher can help Jordan save her-the shy but incredibly sexy Lucy Diamond, the same girl whose heart he broke years ago. But he’s determined not to make the same mistake twice. If only Lucy would give him the time of day. Love has a way of catching up with you. Lucy has no intention of drowning in Jordan’s deep blue gaze again, even if he seems to have turned over a new leaf. Still, his devotion to his sister is impossible to ignore. As they team up to salvage Nicki’s future, Lucy soon discovers that Jordan’s sweet caresses and lingering kisses might just be everything she needs.
Today, she was a different person. Stronger because of the things she’d lived through. Smarter because she’d found a way to survive and come out the other side in a happy place. She knew exactly where she belonged, and that was teaching and helping students like Nicki. Which was why, right now, she was going to pull on her big girl panties and face the boy who had disappointed her head on.
Lucy managed to pull herself together as Jordan removed his sunglasses and slid them to the top of his head. His smile lifted a masculine pair of lips that somehow managed to look cruel and sexy at the same time. The boy had turned into a man times ten. Tall and broad shouldered, his chest looked a mile wide. Judging by the smooth ripples beneath his snug shirt he was packing muscle, not pounds. Jeans, worn and frayed at the stress points, accented his long muscular legs and trim waist. His longish nearly black hair gleamed beneath the overhead lights. And his sharp blue eyes focused intently on her. It was all she could do to keep her heart at a normal pace and her legs solidly beneath her. If ever a man could be described as delicious, Jordan Kincade would be a menu’s specialty of the day. Too bad he was such a jerk. “Ms. Diamond?” He came forward and stretched out his very large hand. “Jordan Kincade.” And clearly he didn’t remember her. Lucy smiled as a funny little tickle moved through her chest. Maybe this was going to be fun after all. Rarely was she ever given the upper hand or the opportunity to have even the slightest edge. When he moved closer his warm palm engulfed hers and her triumph died with a sizzle. Close up she got a better look. She inhaled his sexy scent of worn leather and warm man. Every square inch of her female DNA perked up like it was party time. She hated to disappoint the little darlings but today was all about helping someone else. “Please.” She kept the handshake brief and formal before she disengaged and motioned toward the chair in front of her desk. “Have a seat.” He glanced at the standard school chair with a you’ve got to be kidding me lift of his brows. When he sat down, the orange plastic chair creaked and seemed ridiculously small beneath the scope of his height and muscles. Lucy took her own seat and noticed that the difference in chairs made her tower over him and seemingly give her another advantage. But when he leaned back and crossed an ankle over a knee, he appeared completely comfortable. So much for one-upmanship. “I apologize if I seemed taken aback just now.” She opened the folder and pulled out Nicole’s progress report as well as several exams and the few assignments Nicole had actually turned in. Late, of course, but complete nonetheless. “I expected your brother Ryan.” “He had business at the vineyard and sends his regrets.” She couldn’t help notice how very deep and smooth his voice had become. Like hot buttered rum on a cold winter night. He had the kind of voice a woman could imagine whispering sweet nothings in her ear while he caressed her in places that tingled beneath his touch. “I understand.” Snapping out of the fantasy, she imagined the enormous scope of duties Ryan Kincade must need to tend to after the death of their parents. Her heart sank a little further for the family. Especially for Nicole, who was so young and really needed the love and guidance of her mom and dad. “I hope you’ll accept my condolences. And I sincerely apologize for having you come down at this sorrowful time to deal with what might seem insignificant but—” “Anything regarding my sister is important, Ms. Diamond. Now more than ever.” His brows dipped in a no nonsense fashion. “So don’t judge me when you don’t even know me.” Oh, she knew him. Knew he was the type who’d make a promise then shatter it without ever looking back. But that was then, and this was now. “My apologies, Mr. Kincade. That was certainly not my intent.” His piercing eyes perused her face for a long, uncomfortable moment and she had to admit that the look did something funny to the beat of her heart. Especially when with a slight tilt of his head he asked, “Why do you look so familiar?” “Do I?” That erratic heartbeat kicked up another notch as she let go a chuckle to cover up what was really going on inside. “People say that all the time. I guess I just have one of those faces.” She pushed Nicole’s schoolwork in his direction. “If you’ll take a look at these projects, you’ll see that even though she didn’t complete the assignment exactly as it was defined, Nicole has an enormous gift.” “I’m pretty sure that’s a lie.” “Excuse me?” Irritated, Lucy’s gaze shot up to the slight smile curling his lips. “How can you say that without even reading anything? I guarantee your sister has a multitude of talent.” “I’m not talking about my sister’s work. I’m talking about you just having one of those faces.” He uncrossed his long, muscular legs and leaned forward without even looking at the papers she’d put in front of him. “So now I’m wondering why you sidestepped my question.” Good God the man was intense. There was something in the combination of that nearly black hair that fell over his ears and his nape in perfect waves and those deep blue eyes that seemed almost otherworldly. She could imagine how he’d intimidate an opponent on the ice. And it had nothing to do with his size. But as far as admitting who she really was? Not going to happen. No need to dredge up a bad memory when all she really wanted was to help his sister. “I apologize.” Her heart beat erratically as she avoided the intensity of his gaze. “But I would like to stick to the subject of your sister’s grades—or lack thereof—that may prevent her from graduating with the rest of her class. I genuinely care about her which is why I noticed a problem way before the loss of your parents.” “And now you won’t even look at me,” he said. “Why is that?” As he leaned in, his intoxicating scent came with him. Normally such things didn’t affect her. Well, at least not with her colleagues who tended to wear either too much aftershave or worse, too much body odor. Jordan wore his masculine scent like a sexual promise and Lucy swore he should come with a warning label.
Candis Terry was born and raised near the sunny beaches of Southern California and now makes her home on an Idaho farm. She’s experienced life in such diverse ways as working in a Hollywood recording studio to chasing down wayward steers. Only one thing has remained the same: her passion for writing stories about relationships, the push and pull in the search for love, and the security one finds in their own happily ever after.
