Recipe for CHEESECAKE FILLED BAKED APPLES
6 large, hard, sour apples
1 container (180 g/6 oz) of cream cheese
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp of corn starch (Maizena)
1 / 2dl of pecan nuts, chopped
approx. 1 dl caramel sauce
1-2 sugar cookies
Cut the top off the apples
Engrave the apple seeds with a knife and a spoon if needed. Do not make the hole go through the apple [picture]
Mix cream cheese, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, cinnamon, and egg together.
Fill apples with cream cheese filling using a piping bag
Finish the chopped pecans
Drizzle with the caramel sauce (approx. 1/2 tbsp/apple).
Bake oven dishes at 200C / 390F on the lower part of the oven for about 30 minutes.
When the apples are ready:
Crush the sugar cookies.
Drizzle rest of the caramel sauce on the of the apples
Sprinkle the sugar cookie dust on the surface of the apples.
Can be served with vanilla sauce, fresh whipped cream or other like product if desired.
