I first met Ryker in the previous book in the series, and I was intrigued to find out more about him. He's such a great hero, so strong, solid, loyal man, with priorities straight, putting his daughters first, and taking such a tender care of them. The start of the story with the total daddy moment melted my heart, and won me over completely. Not only is it a story about a hot, family oriented, hockey player, from North Carolina, but cheering for the Buckeyes - Yes, please!
I thought that there was more about hockey and about the team politics in this story than the previous book, and it was interesting, I always love a great teamwork, and brotherhood that can create. There were some scenes with the team that were truly funny, it was great to touch base with the cast from the previous books in the series.
Ryker and Gray have some hot physical chemistry between them, the sexy scenes between them are smoldering hot! But as they get to know each other better, spent stolen moments with each other, deeper connection is formed, and true feelings get into the play. I wish there would have been more time and opportunity for them to spend time with Ryker's daughters, I would have liked to see that relationship develop in more detail.
Hats off to the author how she dealt with the sensitive and difficult topic of divorce. I am not a fan of Hensley, the ex, she was manipulative, and her actions and accusations were questionable, since she was the one who left, and was cheating. But, Ryker, and Gray, had more understanding towards her than I did, and they were very patient and reasonable with her. Ryker was very honest and fair with her, without compromising his own life and relationship.
I have been looking forward to Ryker's story, and it didn't disappoint me. If you like sexy stories about hockey players, who love the game, but not as much as they love their family, cherish the strong, independent woman they fall in love with, and are not afraid to show it to the world, you will love Ryker and Gray's story
