A Texas Ranger must protect the daughter of a serial killer from becoming his next victim…
Breaking into the home of the woman who shared his bed three months ago isn't Weston Cade's usual MO. But the Texas Ranger is on a personal vendetta to catch a killer, and Addie Crockett is the man's biological daughter. The beautiful rancher also happens to be carrying Wes's child…
Addie can't remember her birth father, but she'll never forget the lover who took her to bed -- and then disappeared. Now she has to trust Wes with her life. And the life of their unborn baby. As desire reignites, Addie quickly discovers that with this lawman by her side, she just might escape the target on her back.
This a thrill-ride, fast-paced, non-stop action story, with gun fights and twists on the plot behind every corner.
The story is well written, intense, and kept the hold of my mind and thoughts from the first page to the last. There's fantastic subtle humor through the story, that had me cracking up in the midst of the fierce action.
There are many known, and few unknown, culprits. The constant fear of an attack towards the characters keeps everyone on their toes. The protective brothers, who all seems to be in law enforcement, are bigger than life, and ready to do anything for their little sister.
The romance is as intense as the action. The connection between Addie and Weston started three months ago, it was hot, steamy and filled with passion, in a hotel room for three days. Then Weston disappeared, breaking Addie's heart. And left her pregnant.
Now he is back, to protect her, and the news about the baby could not come at the worst moment, the serial killer is now targeting Addie.
I loved that they did not drag out the drama between them. After Addie heard why Weston had left, she trusted his word, and understood it. The attraction is still burning hot as ever between them, just a touch, and the flames are burning hot again. At the worst moments of the fight for life and death, just a touch, and it calms their mind.
A brilliant story, filled with adrenaline, energy, and vitality. It has a perfect mix of desperation and fear, danger and romance, laced with unexpected humor. The heat and passion between Addie and Weston hits like a hammer with every touch, and carries a lighter, fun tone into the tale, making it sparkle.
A story not to be missed!
