THIS MIRACLE'S A MYSTERY
When newborn twins mysteriously appear on Cole McCullough's doorstep, everyone at the Healing Ranch, including Cole, starts to think...could they be his? Why else would someone leave them there? Cole knows there must be another explanation. Unless...
The only woman that Cole's been that close to is Stacy Rowe--the one he cared for deeply, and deeply regrets losing. But Stacy hasn't been in Forever in...forever. Eight months, to be exact. And while the math adds up, nothing else does! She would never abandon two little babies that way--she's said as much. But she does seem awfully keen to help him care for them. And the closer their odd little family grows, the more Cole has to wonder...
A cute and delightfully entertaining story, it was just what I needed to take my mind away for a couple of hours without much angst or turbulence.
What we have here is a failure to communicate by two young people in the beginning steps of a relationship. Eight months later they face each other again with two babies in their hands, and they have a chance to learn to trust, learn to open up to each other, learn to work as a team, and most importantly - learn to communicate with each other. Because the chemistry is there, the old feelings are obviously there, and the connection between Cole McCullough and Stacy Rowe is tangible.
It is not an easy road, or an instant one, either. It takes few weeks, lots hours with the babies, bickering, arguments, good meals, family time, illness, and taking that brave step to be vulnerable, to be honest with each other, and taking the leap without looking back to build something that is worthwhile to hold on to.
Cole is feeling restless with his life, without direction, when he finds the twins on his doorstep. I liked Cole immediately, his sense of humor, his sense of responsibility and respect towards people around him. He seems like a good guy, decent, kind, and considerate.
Stacy had run away, sort of, eight months ago, to Europe with her aunt. Upon her arrival at home, after losing her aunt, she finds out she has lost her home as well. At the loose ends, with no immediate plans, she is the perfect person to take care of the mystery twins while their parents are being searched for. Stacy is a stubborn, strong-willed lady. She has spark and bite, yet she has a sense of responsibility, kindness, and good will to accept the duty to take care of the twins. If only she would dare to open up to Cole, to hear him out about the past mistakes, and see what is right in front of her, and things might turn out differently.
The smalltown charm is thick in the tale. I loved the strong matronly characters in the town taking charge and guiding the way for the rest of the folks. The story is filled with moments that made me smile, the little twins are sure to charm anyone, and there is a spark with all the sweet to heat up the romance. An enjoyable tale to sweep you away for an evening
