They are so true and perfect for each other, the air between the is crackling with sensual energy that wants to consume them. I adored them and their transparency, honor, and loyalty, the fire they had for each other, the protectiveness they professed, how they shared the burdens and took care of each other when needed. The tension in the tale doesn't only come from the deep current running between Billy and Maxi. There's the danger from the odd and fearful attacks towards Maxi, her stressful job, her dad's and his mom's problems causing heartache, issues from the past that Maxi has to face, and even mafia. Melanie Shawn writes some of the best circles of friends and extended families. The one for all and all for one mentality is admirable, the respect for elders commendable, the support for one of them never fail. It is easy to fall in love with the characters and picture the events in the story in your mind, just immerse yourself in the tale and forget the world around you. Billy and Maxi stole my heart. The adoration, devotion, passion, dedication, and affection between them made me sigh and swoon and smile, restore my faith in soul-mates and belief of dreams come true ~ Five Spoons!
