All work and no play makes Adeline Kendrick a dull girl, so when she heads to a casino resort for a friend's bachelorette weekend, she's ready to have a good time. Until she runs into Brendan Quinn, professional fighter and the one who got away—the one her family drove away—and things take a turn for the interesting.

Running into his ex won't shake Brendan. Even if it brings up the old pain of loving her when she was only slumming. Even if she looks really good. In fact, what better way to get over the past than to take advantage of the still-sizzling chemistry running hot between them? He's there to win an MMA fight, but he won't say no to a little physical relief of a different kind.

But when the weekend is over, Adeline isn't ready to give up her second chance that easily. Brendan is still the one for her, no matter what her family thinks. Now, if only she can convince him of that…

Short, cute, sweet, and sexy novella from one of my favorite authors Shannon Stacey.
All I know about MMA fighting I learned on romance novels, so I can't say much about that aspect about the story, except it was well built up with intensity, without going into the gory details of blood, bruises, and cuts.
Adeline and Brendan are so luscious together, the connection is there from the first look, the pull for each other is strong, stronger than they can fight against. The heat is high, it is smoldering, yet tender, and the deeper feelings they used to have for each other, come back into the picture rather fast.
I like the author's characters because they are so down to earth, there isn't any angst filled drama, or unnecessary conflict.
Adeline's family didn't like Brendan, they didn't think he was good enough for her, and interfere. Brendan walked away. Both were broken hearted.
Adeline and Brendan spent a weekend at the casino, with an MMA fight and bachelorette party, and stolen, hot, moments with each other. They talk about the past, the present, but not much about the future, since they both fear, what will happen, when the families come into the picture again.
The novella was shorter than I expected, with a long excerpt for the next book coming from the author in just a couple of weeks. But the story that was given to us, is a sweet and sensuous second chance romance, that left me rooting for a future together for the characters.
