Star crossed lovers fight an impossible attraction as the search for a killer heats up.

New evidence links the death of a young woman to the murder of Mallory Jameson fifteen years before.

When the murderer threatens teacher Sarah Lomax, Deputy Jack Cash’s investigation uncovers a secret from Sarah’s past, and an attraction that could be fatal.

A riveting and touching conclusion to the murder mystery romantic suspense trilogy that captured my mind.
There is so much to enjoy about this series, the ardent romance stories, the intense suspense, the small town atmosphere, the high school where some of the characters were involved in, shortly put the author has created a world where it was a pleasure to linger, even with the murders happening in the center of the tales.
Sarah Lomax and Jack Cash have the kind of keen, straight forward and honest connection and attraction that always makes me smile.
Jack is such an attractive man, his love for his sister's kids showing what kind of a man he is, and what his priorities are. He is as dedicated to his job as he is for his family. His kindness, considerate nature, and thoughtful actions won me over immediately.
Sarah has a hereditary health concern that has shaped her life and the choices she has made and will continue to make in the future. With those choices, she showed such bravery, it blew me away. She could have made selfish decisions,  yet she chose to deny her own desires of the kind of future her heart longed for. She is smart, with the kind of emotional intelligence I admire. She is kind, generous, and loving woman and Jack saw it all and chose to gently demolish the walls which she tried to hide behind.
I have truly enjoyed this series, each story continuing the search for the killer, while solving other crimes, each book having their own romantic couple to focus on. This series has been entertaining, compelling, and heartwarming, as much as poignant, tense, and scary. With a bit shorter length books yet each fully packed with story, emotions, and events it is the perfect kind of summer reading that I can fully and gladly recommend to all readers.
