Their first chance at love ended in heartbreak
Wade Rycroft fell in love with Geneva Harris when she was the smartest girl in his class. The rodeo star and the shy academic made for an odd pair, but their chemistry was undeniable. They made plans to get married after high school. Those plans changed when Genny broke his heart. Joining the Army gave him a chance to leave that life behind. News that Genny married the town’s golden boy let Wade know that he could never go home again. A chance encounter rekindles an old flame Fifteen years later, he’s found his place in the world and tried to forget the woman who left him standing in the rain. After leaving the Army he forged a new life as a bodyguard at McKay-Taggart, but he still feels incomplete. When his brother’s wedding brings him home to Broken Bend, Texas, he walks into a storm of scandal. Genny’s marriage has dissolved, the town has turned against her, and someone is making threats. Seeing her again reawakens feelings he thought were long gone, and he worries that staying close enough to help her could be too much to bear. Their reunion just might kill them both After an attempt is made on Genny’s life, Wade can’t refuse to help her. Watching over her day and night, it’s clear that having her back in his life could be the thing to finally make him whole. When the danger follows them back to Dallas, their second chance at love could be over before it even begins.
“There’s no reason for you to be jealous of Hutch. He gave me a few kisses, that’s all.”
He dropped her hand, turned, and started back toward the office. Hutch’s truck was still here. He would kill the little fucker and that would teach him. He would torture him first. Hutch liked computers. Wade would see how much he liked them when they were shoved hard up his ass. “Wade.” Genny ran after him, her laughter a musical sound he didn’t want to hear right now. “Wade, come on. I was joking. He let me raid his desk for chocolate. Those kind of kisses. Please don’t murder him.” He stopped, completely embarrassed. He hadn’t been thinking. She was used to being around a man who took out his temper on her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” She grinned up at him, her hand on his arm. “You didn’t scare me. Why would you… Wade, I know you’re not Brock. I’ve always known that. I’m not terrified of all men. Hell, I’m not afraid of Big Tag. He’s kind of funny once you let him know where the boundaries are.” “You gave Tag boundaries?” He’d been afraid to leave her alone with Ian. Not because he thought Ian would hurt her, but because he could be intimidating at times. Now that he thought about it, Big Tag was actually perfect for Genny to start practicing her newfound sass on because he would like her more if she gave him hell. “Very firm ones, but I also offered him something in exchange. We’re going to get along fine, Tag and I. And Hutch and I are only ever going to be friends. He talks way too much about Game of Thrones, but he does have a lot of candy so it evens out to a nice friendship.” She moved her hand up to his shoulder. “I’m not interested in Hutch, but there is this guy who works in the office I am interested in.” His whole body went on full alert. He had things to tell her, things that were important, but was here really the place to do that? Here was the place to talk about work things and who she was interested in. Interested in seeing? Interested in spending more time with? “Who might that be?” Her eyes met his, heating up. “He’s in the bodyguard unit and he told me once that if I ever want a real kiss, I should ask him.” He could feel the erection coming on like a runaway locomotive. He’d spent the last few months going without. The scene at Sanctum had gotten boring for him. At first it had been filled with excitement, but watching all his friends settle down had made him look at his life in a different way. Having Genny back in it made him absolutely sure he didn’t want casual sex. He wanted a woman who belonged to him, who he belonged to. He wanted disgusting, nasty, utterly committed sex. “Then you should definitely ask.” “Wade, will you kiss me?” Coming to other retailers October 29, 2018 FREE Kindle app https://amzn.to/2AmPtKM to read now on Kindle

ARE THEY IN TOO DEEP?
Ex-Navy SEAL Cabe Moss always comes when called to duty―at all costs. Even though the death of his fiancée nearly destroyed him, Cabe won’t let his past interfere with any work that has to get done. When his latest task pushes him to team up with FBI Agent Amy Murray, a fierce beauty with the undercover skills to match, Cabe must admit that, for the first time in years, he wants to do more than just complete their mission together… Amy was born ready for this assignment, but working side-by-side with the the strong, silent, and frustratingly professional Cabe seems to be the biggest challenge of all. But when the sparks begin to fly―and the stakes rise to dangerous heights―the only thing Amy is left worrying about is how she can resist him. Their lives may be in danger, but their hearts hold the biggest risk of all…
An enjoyable and entertaining storyline with sweet and sexy romance and a multi-agency investigation into human trafficking and money laundering with the Russian mob involved, whom the guys from Eagle run into in a previously in the series.
Cabe Moss is a hero easy to like. He is a strong, capable, considerate, and kind man. He knows what he wants, he has a surprising romantic streak, tenderness, and vulnerability that melts the hearts of the readers. His sorrow over losing his fiancee is touching, how he respects and cherishes Jess' memory is beautifully done. I love the connection Cabe, Six, and Mac has. The way they know each other and get each other, and understand each other, the banter, the teasing, the confrontations, calling each other out when needed, it is one my favorite things in the series. FBI Agent Amy Murray is an independent, tough, and capable woman who can hold her own and kick some arse when needed. She is a true professional, at least in the beginning, until the emotions between her and Cabe takes over the rational thinking. With the strong secondary characters, likable hero and heroine, and a good storyline, I was ready to love the heck out of this story. But it turned out it was more of a liked it a lot, read it through even though struggled in the half point, and ended up finding it entertaining. I'm not sure if the eARC was edited more before the final print, but there were several mistakes in it that broke the flow for me. The point of view and the timeline was jumpy, not formatted to be reader-friendly, but all these issues could have been corrected to the final copy, so not affecting my score of the title. In my opinion, Amy lost a lot of her edge as an agent when she started her relationship with Cabe, there were a couple of times I had to remind myself that she was not civilian helping out with the investigation. Cabe didn't trust her abilities keep herself safe, maybe not because of her actions, but because of what happened to Jess in the past. Yet there was something off balance in the tale right after they got together. Amy and Cabe, after submerging into the lust, were sizzling hot, and the explicit love scenes were plentiful. I really loved the mature and constructive way they dealt with the issues between them. I loved that there was no drama just for the sake of drama, yet there were feels, deep emotions that were palpable, and conversations that were difficult. I'm glad I didn't give up on Deep Cover at the halfway point because the action and tension of the suspense pick up, and the thrill of the chase is riveting towards the end, so much so that I didn't want it to end quite so suddenly. A luscious and delicate love story in a middle of an intense and dangerous investigation lead by a cast of charming characters enthralled and entertained my mind and I'm looking forward to the next installment of the series. ~ Four Spoons

But their flirtations do not go unseen, and Logan’s love turns and goes from jealousy to murderous intent.
Can these unproven lovers stay the course and avoid the devious plot of a scorn man or will everything crash and burn?
*Trigger warning: Violence
**Strong Sexual Situations
SOME THINGS JUST CAN’T BE HELPED. I hadn’t planned on proposing Saturday night, but the flighty way Charity acted when I mentioned Princeton and NYU made it necessary. I would never ask her to abandon her studies. It’s not easy for someone with her financial background to get into Yale. She needs to graduate, it will add to her resume and mine. I’m a Princeton Alumni, graduating with an advanced degree in English and Education with a focus on American Literature. I had fallen into the job at Charity’s High School when my cousin, who was a janitor there, let it slip that their senior honors prep English teacher had died, leaving the school in a bit of a pickle. I swooped in and was hired on the spot.
The Charity thing? It’s not like I went looking for little girls or anything. With the help of her friends, she pursued me, and let’s face it, when soft, wet, fresh pussy like that chases a man, he can only run so long and so far. We abstained until her graduation night, then she was on me like a bear with a honey pot. I was hooked. I made a promise to myself that she would be the mother of my children someday. Charity is smart, but I’m cunning, and I won’t hesitate to undercut her if necessary to make sure I get what I’ve planned for. A beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful wife who knows when to keep her mouth shut. I’ve spent the last three years grooming her, showing her what to wear and how to speak because God knows that her Southern twang, while endearing to some, comes off low to the elite crowds. I’ve shown her what glasses are for water and which are for wine, as well as giving her an appreciation for the fine arts and music. Things that, without me, she would have never gotten to experience. Certainly not wasting away bussing tables at Petropolis, that’s for sure. Sunday, she came and went after working at that menial diner job, which was just as well. I had papers to grade and a resume to tweak. Her presence would have just been an annoyance. I did, however, enjoy the back of her throat for about twenty minutes before letting her leave with a pearl necklace. It’s Tuesday evening, poker night. She should be here soon to help put out the spread before she goes out with her two girlfriends. I gamble, and she goes dancing, then we fuck like rabbits. It works, she’s always a little more pliable after going out with her friends. Friends that I both like and loathe. See, I trust her, but I don’t trust Hope. You could call her the resident skank, she gives great head and can ride you like a bucking bull, but you gotta tap it from the back because everyone’s had a piece of her snatch. Yeah, that includes me, but she’s also a couple years older than Charity, and I needed somebody to take care of the blue balls she was causing for nearly five months. I’m in the kitchen, cutting up pepperoni and pepper jack cheese when I hear the front door open and close. “That you, sunshine?” I call. “Yeah, handsome, it’s me. You expectin’ somebody new?” “Me? Never.” As she enters the kitchen, I notice her blonde hair is now spiral curled. If I wanted to be fucking her mother, I would be. My fingers tighten around the knife handle and my chopping gets louder. “I know cutting your hair was kind of my idea, but I think I was wrong. The curls don’t really suit you.” She raises an eyebrow. “Well, I like it.” She reaches over and takes a baby carrot, prompting me to grab her wrist. “Wash your hands,” I growl low in my throat. She pulls away, dropping the carrot and going to the sink to wash her filthy hands. Great, now I have to wash the fucking carrots again. I glare at her as she gets out the mini-dogs, puffed pastry, and pizza rolls.

Salvation, Pennsylvania. The commune located in the small town was advertised as a modern Utopia: a place to live, share, and learn with other like-minded young people. Cate Pendleton’s sister was one of them. Now she’s dead—and Cate won’t rest until she finds out who killed her. Stonewalled at every turn, she approaches a DC Fixer for help and ends up with Damon Knox, a mysterious man with a secretive past. But Cate soon discovers that she not only needs Damon, she wants him, which isn’t good—for the attraction brewing between them will only lead to complications that can turn into danger . . .
Damon has tried to erase the hellish memories and the evil that happened in Salvation ever since he left a long time ago. Still, he can’t turn his back on Cate. As Damon works with Cate to uncover her sister’s killer, he finds himself drawn to her more and more. But how will she feel about him when she learns about his connection to the place? Joining forces to uncover the truth, they must stay one step ahead of a cunning killer who’s bent on not being exposed.
I hang on to each and every word as I was reading The Protector. With the brilliant banter, the twisted word games, the subtle hints with the ever-escalating suspense, the way the fake romance turns into an inferno of real, true feelings, emotions that wrapped around my heart as well as the protagonists, and how the thrilling suspense and anticipation of the malice influenced and affected the deepening emotions growing between Cate and Damon, all together it created an amazing, riveting, and ardent tale, an unputdownable story that enchanted and charmed my mind and heart while I devoured it.
Cate Pendleton's fearless pursuit of justice for her sister, to find out the truth about her sister's destiny and death was admirable and showed the capacity of kindness, consideration, compassion, and determination she was able to. She is smart, goal oriented, with an organized mind, and capable to hold her own. She is passionate, comfortable within herself, and she knows what it is to want more, to need more, to survive, and to succeed. Damon Knox is such a complex man with deep mental wounds from his upbringing and from the consequences of the actions of the authority figures in his early life. He has completely closed off his past to survive, relying only on his inner circle of friends. He has his job, where all the good he does, is like a redemption from his past. He uses jokes and humor to hide behind, yet there is a deeply feeling, caring, passionate man under all the tough exterior, that won my heart, over and over again through the tale. Together Cate and Damon complete each other. They bring peace of mind to each other, they feel safe and centered, able to conquer anything while in each other's company. The passion between them is beautiful, I loved how equal they were in each other's eyes, physically, mentally, with the investigation, and with the battle to survive the deadly hostility the face. The palpable malice in the air, the intense and intimidating atmosphere at the Sullivan compound, the threats, and attacks against Cate and Damon are constant in the story, giving it a very edgy and potent tone. The suspense is well twined together with the developing love story. The tight bond, and support of the members of Fixer's team demonstrating what a true brotherhood is like. With vivid images of the thrilling, dramatic action and suspense, of the desirous, delightfully delicious love story, built by sharp and illustrative dialogue, words that easily captured my mind and wrapped around my heart, HelenKay Dimon delivers another home run in this prized and popular series. A must-read in my opinion ~ Five Spoons
![]() One summer, two sisters and a chance to start over… Before the burglary that shattered her confidence, Phoenix Rose had a fiancé, a successful store and a busy, happy existence. After months spent adrift, she takes a job at the lakeside resort of Cooper’s Charm. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, friendly colleagues and a charismatic, widowed boss, Phoenix is slowly inching her way back into the world. Visiting Cooper’s Charm to check up on her little sister, Ridley Rose impulsively agrees to fill in as housekeeper. Still reeling from an ego-bruising divorce, she finds satisfaction in a job well done—and in the attention of the resort’s handsome scuba instructor. For Phoenix and Ridley, Cooper’s Charm is supposed to be merely temporary. But this detour may lead to the place they most need to be, where the future is as satisfying as it is surprising… A perfect mix of sweet, sassy, and sexy with a dash of suspense and danger to give the story an excellent and edgy, life-altering conflict Lori Foster's new series is indeed charming and won my heart over completely. Excuse me for fangirling here, but Ms. Foster writes such well balanced, smoothly flowing stories with intriguing and original characters, with lots of deep emotions and hot, sizzling heat, that they got to be addictive and you just don't want them to end. I loved the two sisters, Phoenix Rose and Ridley Rose. They are so alike yet so different, just like sisters are. The bond between them is sacred, they get each other, they understand each other, there is nothing that would ever break that bond, and they are very secure with that knowledge. Phoenix has gone through the unimaginable, a personal attack that left her mind battered and jumpy. She is a tough woman, she is a survivor, and she is working so hard to find herself again, to feel joy and love, and to dare to let herself go, surrender to the wild and burning attraction she feels towards Cooper. I loved that Phoenix is a curvy, independent, resilient woman, it is so easy to admire her, to relate to her, and to like her. And Cooper, with his wounded soul, with his wit and kindness, his patience, and tenderness, I just loved him from the very first moment. And I loved him and Phoenix together, the way they center each other and balance each other, how safe and secure they felt with each other. And despite their personal imperfections or because of them, Cooper and Phoenix had the potential to be a true match, soulmates, if they dared to open up their hearts and minds and love again. Ridley and Baxter took the foreplay type of mind games and banter to the next level. They are such a mix of contradictions, they argue and challenge the other, but are never hurtful or mean, they pull and then push but never too far away, they are sweet and tender with each other right after ravishing the other against the wall. They are entertaining, adorable, and just so deliciously delectable. With all the trouble, danger, and deep wounds Phoenix and Cooper have, Ridley and Baxter, they bring the balancing bliss and glee to the table - until the things get real. I know Lori Foster's fans, and readers in general, are going to be delighted with the beginning of the new series. It is filled with intriguing, piquant characters, humor and joy, and even danger and sorrow, as well as the adorably satisfying and ardent love stories that will sweep the readers off their feet. Unputdownable, not to be missed passionate romance novel with a touch of danger to spice it up even more ~ Five Spoons
BLIND LOVE COWBOYS AND ANGELS SERIES Book 5 By Kelly Elliott Release Day – July 24th ![]() Harley and I had our whole lives planned out, until her plans changed, and those plans didn't include me. After years spent trying to get the love of my life out of my head and repair my too-damaged heart, I thought I was finally moving on…but life sure has a funny way of letting you know when those best-laid plans are about to be turned upside down. My entire world was rocked when Harley unexpectedly moved back to Oak Springs. Every miserable moment I'd spent trying to get over her and every hour I'd wasted trying to erase her from my life came back to haunt me the minute she walked into my office, fear in her eyes, and asked me for help. Would I…or better yet, could I walk away from her this time after all that she had put me through? What I really needed to know is would I be able to forge ahead with the future I had so meticulously planned—one that didn't include Harley—or will her return finally open my eyes to a future full of endless possibilities? The knock on my office door had me looking at my watch. Shit. It was seven. “Come in.” The door opened, and Cord walked in. “What in the hell are you still doing here this late?” I shrugged. “I guess if I was being honest with myself, hiding.” He sat down in one of the chairs facing my desk. “From?” “Hell, I don’t know. Everyone.” He nodded. “You want to talk about it?” I dropped my pen onto the desk and scrubbed my hands down my face while leaning back in my chair. “Fuck, Cord. I’m twisted up inside. I’m really trying to give this thing with Mallory a go.” “What’s keeping you from doing that? Her kid?” “No, hell no. I love little Laney. She’s precious, and I honestly hardly ever see her. Mallory is pretty strict about that. I’ll go over to pick them up for dinner or a movie, but I rarely hang out at their house. Mallory says she doesn’t want to confuse Laney.” Cord lifted his brows. “Really? I would think Mallory would want you to get to know each other better.” “Yeah, who knows. Maybe it’s for the best anyway.” “So, what has you holding back?” I stared at him. He already knew the answer. The five-foot-two, gorgeous brunette with the sun-kissed skin, and crystal-clear eyes that sparkled like emeralds was the reason I was so fucked up. “I think you already know.” He smiled. “Harley?” I pointed to him. “Right, as usual.” Pulling in a deep breath, Cord said, “She is looking damn hot. I heard Todd Schneider has been asking her out.” My brows pulled together. “Steed’s old high school buddy?” He nodded. “How do you know this?” “Corina told me.” My jaw dropped. “She told you, but not me?” Tossing his head back, he let out a roar of laughter. “Dude, why in the hell would she tell you?” “I don’t know. Maybe because she’s my best friend, and she knows I dated Harley.” “She also knows, like everyone else in town, that you’re now dating Mallory.” “Still, she should have told me.” “Why? Would it have made a difference to what is happening between you and Mallory?” “To know that Harley is dating? No.” I was getting better at telling myself that lie. Each night I laid in bed and thought about that fucking letter she wrote me. I had torn it up without even reading it. I had regretted it the moment I put it in the shredder. “She said she had Milo in for a check-up, and Todd was in there with his new puppy. She overheard him asking Harley to dinner.” I swallowed hard. “And Harley said no?” He gave me a look that said I was pathetic. “Harley said no.” Letting out the breath I hadn’t even known I was holding, I leaned back in my chair. Cord stared at me. “Tripp, are you over her? Are you really able to say you can move on with another woman?” “If you had asked me that before Harley came back I would have said probably. Maybe.” “That shouldn’t make a difference, Tripp. What does her being back in town have to do with it?” I let out a gruff laugh. “For starters, when I see her a flood of memories come rushing back. If Mallory is with me I can’t focus because I’m afraid she’ll catch me stealing glances at Harley, or she’ll ask me if I still have feelings for her.” “Do you?” “Yes. No. Yes.” With a lift of his brow, Cord gave me an incredulous look. “Which one is it?” Closing my eyes, I sighed. “I don’t know.” ![]() Kelly Elliott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling contemporary romance author. Mack has had a lot to deal with since his parent's divorce. The way their father brought the brothers up built up walls that have to come down for their peace of mind. The troubles with Ford and their mother has to be solved for life to move on. Mack has to find the understanding and forgiveness and the courage in his heart to make peace for the whole family, to start building it up instead of tearing it down. I loved this story so much, it was hard to put down, even at the end. Mack and Ella have to go through a whirlwind of emotions, changes, and growth to find their fragile balance, and even then it could be blown away by careless situations. The story has such a smooth, effortless flow, it pulled me in from the first, and help me captivated throughout. ![]() A bride becomes a target in New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels’s latest can’t-miss suspense Tragedy sent Deidre “Drey” Hunter running from rancher Hawk Cahill and into the arms of a sleek businessman who promised her a new life. But dreams of Manhattan days and cosmopolitan nights shatter when he brings her back to an ultramodern paradise in her hometown of Gilt Edge—and vanishes on their wedding night. Taunted by seclusion and silence, Drey starts to doubt everything…including her sanity. Only Hawk, the stubborn cowboy from her school days, believes the threats are real and that someone is ready to kill. But is he willing to forgive the past if it means ending her nightmare? You will die in this house. The thought seemed to rush out of the darkness as the house came into view. The premonition turned her skin clammy. Drey gripped a handful of her wedding dress, her fingers aching but unable to release the expensive fabric as she stared at her new home. A wedding gift, Ethan had said. A surprise, sprung on her at the reception. The portent still had a death grip on her. She could see herself lying facedown in a pool of water, her auburn hair fanned out around her head, her body so pale it appeared to have been drained of all blood. “Are you all right?” her husband asked now as he reached over to take her hand. “Dierdre?” Unlike everyone else she knew, Ethan refused to call her by her nickname, Drey. “I’m still a little woozy from the reception,” she said, desperately needing fresh air right now as she put down her window to let in the cool Montana summer night. “I warned you about drinking too much champagne.” He’d warned her about a lot of things. But it wasn’t the champagne, which she hadn’t touched during the reception. He knew she didn’t drink, but he’d insisted one glass of champagne at her wedding wasn’t going to kill her. She’d gotten one of the waiters to bring her sparkling cider. So it wasn’t alcohol that had her stomach roiling. No, it was when Ethan had told her where they would be living. She’d assumed they would live in his New York City penthouse since that was where he spent most of his time. She’d actually been looking forward to it because she’d grown up in Gilt Edge, Montana, and had never lived in a large city before. Also it would be miles from Gilt Edge—and Hawk Cahill. She’d never dreamed that Ethan meant for them to live here in Montana, at the place he’d named Mountain Crest. All during construction, she’d thought that the odd structure was to be used as a business retreat only. Ethan had been so proud of the high-tech house with its barred gate at the end of the paved road, she’d never let on that she knew the locals made fun of it—and its builder. When Ethan had pulled her aside at the reception and told her that they would be living on the mountain overlooking Gilt Edge in his prized house, Dierdre hadn’t been able to hide her shock. She’d never dreamed… But then, she’d never dreamed she would be married to Ethan Baxter. “Is there a problem?” he’d asked when he’d told her the news. She’d tried to cover her discomfort. “I just assumed we would be living in New York City, closer to your business.” “I’ve given up the penthouse. When I have to go to the city on business, I’ll be staying in a hotel.” He’d sounded a bit indignant as if she should have been more excited. “Mountain Crest will have to do.” “I didn’t mean…” She had seen that there was nothing she could say that wouldn’t make it worse. Now, as she found her breath, the premonition receding only a little, she had another paralyzing thought. You’ve made a terrible mistake.

Seizing the chance to treat them all, Bonni splurges on a little luxury including a VIP booth in an exclusive club. That's when she sees him. Meets the gambler... Professional poker player Quinn Bryant is in town for one of the largest tournaments of the year. Fortune smiles on him when he spots Bonni across the dance floor. But what starts as a holiday fling soon turns into something more, as Bonni learns to see the man behind the poker face. The stakes have never been higher. Even though Bonni's trip has an end date and there is another tournament calling Quinn's name, their strong connection surprises them both. And by the end of the weekend they start to wonder if what happens in Vegas doesn't have to stay there... Quinn gazed around the room, taking in the crowd. It was going on 11 p.m., and he knew he needed to get some rest, but he had tossed back his Scotch and was now ready for a second. He was far too wound up to settle down just yet. The dance floor was packed, and no one intrigued him enough to go and cut in. Quinn was one of those rare male specimens who actually liked to dance. His mother had made sure he and his brother knew their way around the dance floor. He hadn’t enjoyed it much as a kid, but he’d appreciated it when he discovered girls and learned that women loved a man who could dance. He tapped the bar with his fingers, indicating that he wanted another drink. They knew him here. The barman placed a glass in front of him. ‘Thanks, man.’ Quinn wasn’t in a talkative mood. ‘You in the tournament?’ the bartender asked him. Quinn nodded. ‘Yep.’ ‘I heard it’s pretty tough this time.’ The bartender was chatty tonight. Quinn shrugged his shoulders. ‘They’re all tough.’ He sipped his drink and turned back to the crowd. A familiar song came on. One that women seemed to love and which usually led to a slew of drunk chicks trying to move seductively in sky-high heels. This ought to be interesting. He sat back and watched the crowd. Then the sea of people parted and he saw her. Quinn froze, the glass to his lips. She was in the perfect position on the dance oor. A spotlight bathed her in its beam, the beads on her dress reflecting the light, shimmering and giving her a soft glow. The thin straps clung to her shoulders and the sheath hugged her lean curves, ending high on her thighs. She had fantastic legs. He put the glass down and swallowed. Her skin was pale and a complete contrast to her dark hair. Quinn was mesmerized. Lord, he wanted to unwrap and discover everything about her. e sensation of the silky dress beneath his hands, and the heat of her body . . . She was magnificent. Quinn stood. It appeared she was with friends. They were an attractive group of women and he was surprised no men had claimed them yet. Of the four of them, though, she was the one who had caught his eye. Quinn smiled. The inherent grace in her dance moves, even as she nearly clocked her blonde friend in the eye with an enthusiastic hand wave, told him all he needed to know. She would be just as sensual underneath him. In his bed. He preferred not to pick up women the night before a tournament, as he didn’t want any distractions in the morning, but she intrigued him and he needed to meet her. But one woman will discover that her heart is fair game . . . The Lazy S Ranch is everything to Jenna Nash. It’s given her family, friends, and a fulfilling career: helping veterans rebuild their lives. She sacrificd a lot to get her equine therapy program off the ground—including love. But suddenly, she’s in danger of losing it all . . . Joining the Marines was the best decision Quinn Powell ever made, even if he had to go it alone without Jenna. Now his best friend’s death has brought him back to the ranch he once called home—and to the woman who rejected him. Quinn hasn’t lost his touch—with the wildest horses or with Jenna. Though she’s falling for the brash, impulsive cowboy all over again, Jenna has reason to be wary. But when she and the ranch are threatened, Quinn will put everything on the line to save them both . . . A beautiful and heartbreaking demonstration of love, loyalty, and friendship, in a story with second chances, that is filled with intense emotions, healing conversations, and suspense and action where no one is safe and everyone's lives are put on the line. Jenna Nash and Quinn Powell are characters easy to like and relate to. They both are strong, smart, capable, goal oriented, determined to the point of stubbornness, and fierce protectors of what they believe is right and of the people they care about. They have a history that broke both of their hearts, yet the pain has dulled over the years apart, even if their hearts, minds, bodies, and souls still recognize their mate. Quinn's career in Marines is on the line because of a helicopter accident while on duty that left him wounded. Jenna has worked vigorously to start her program to the military vets, yet now everything is put on the line because of her first client, Quinn's best friend, is found dead on the property by an apparent overdose of drugs. I loved everything about the way and the time span Jenna and Quinn have to rekindle their feelings, to have the healing moments from the past hurt, and to connect on a deeper, true level again. The pain is palpable, but so is the connection and attraction between them. The trust doesn't come easy, yet on a very basic level, they know they can count on the other. They have to work on the forgiveness, on themselves and their issues, on building something lasting between them again, while in a middle of an undercover operation to find out what really happen to Quinn's friend. The character growth, while subtle and fragile, was a beautiful thing to witness. As likable and lovable Jenna and Quinn are, even with their imperfections or maybe because of them, I cheered for them, rooted for them to find a way, to find a compromise they both could live and be happy and content with. It does not come easy, there are no obvious conclusions, it takes time, work, and sacrifices, but the willingness to find a way and fight for the happiness shines through. The author's knowledge about the healing powers of the animals is shown numerous times through the tale. It is demonstrated with both dogs and horses, the interactions endearing and adorable. The a-ha moment when everything clicked for Quinn was so powerful it brought tears to my eyes. With an intriguing and entertaining cast of characters providing drama, banter, and demonstrations of love and loyalty, with the delightfully sexy and charming love story developing, and with the deadly danger from the cartel and drug and human trafficking, this story held me captive, enthralled, and excited until the swoon-worthy end. An alluring love story with lusciously adorable romance mixed with captivating and thrilling suspense and deadly action makes a highly entertaining tale of cowboys, soldiers, and cartel members ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
![]() Liv Davis had just about given up on her happily ever after. Burned by love more than once, she’s beginning to think Mr. Right wasn’t in the cards for her. She loves Marc more than she can begin to admit but she’s terrified of being rejected again. Marc faces a challenge greater than he’s ever faced before. Making a woman believe he’s more than just a great bedmate—making her believe he’s in it for good. In the end it will all come down to two days in a hotel and a bet. Can they both win? You know that moment when you are enjoying a great story... It is steamy, actually sizzling hot and you are afraid it will actually melt your kindle. It is entertaining, you like the characters, it is sweet, adorable, and even cute at times, and you're just enjoying the ride. And suddenly the speed bump comes and the emotions hit the high road, and instead of smiling and chuckling away you are weeping, and you feel the pain, you feel the confusion, the outrage, the fear, the utter panic, the need to stay the same and while wanting things to chance... Man, color me impressed, because I was not prepared for the emotional onslaught I got towards the second part of the tale when things get real, get genuinely emotional, and there is no escaping or ignoring the work ahead for Marc and Liv and their relationship. The stories of the Chase Brothers is a rerelease but new to me. I missed the first one, but the two I have read so far has been the perfect mix of meddling family, friends for life, small town living, romances that sweep you off your feet, and the deep emotions that make you remember the stories long afterward. I have been swooning on every second page because when the Chase brothers fall, they fall hard, they fall completely, they are 'besotted', and they go after what they want with the determination rarely seen, but none with the perseverance like Marc Chase when he figures out the one for him is Liv Davis. The relationship developing between Marc and Liv is not easy and the story captures about a year of their lives as they work on their issues while falling hard and deep for each other. I loved the honesty between all the characters, there were moments that were even a bit awkward because of the brutal honesty every single main character of the story had while fighting for their happiness and trying to clear path for it. The fact that Matt had dated Liv in the past had me a bit nervous at the beginning, as well as the dating Liv did after her and Marc's attraction flamed. But both of these matters were an intricate part of the character development that needed to happen for Matt, Marc, and Liv, for the tale of the brothers continues. Despite all the differences Liv tried to see in her and Marc, they are so amazingly perfect together, physically and sexually, umm... YES! But also as friends, partners, companions, and mates. The last part of the story flooded me with emotions, took me for a ride that I will not forget. Liv and Marc have to go through the ringer to be able to figure out their relationship because even the issues they are fighting against are not what they thought they were. Blissfully entertaining, sweetly ardent, and emotionally wrecking tale that left me with a teary smile and satisfied sigh of a great love story ~ Five Spoons

A child witnesses a murder And becomes a killer's target...
Murder doesn't belong in the peaceful town of Eagle Mountain, Colorado. Yet Deputy Gage Walker has a brutal double murder on his hands and a missing deaf child. Gage's only hope to find the little girl is her aunt, Maya Renfro. But nothing has prepared Gage for the intense chemistry between them...or just what happens when love gets mixed with murder. Eagle Mountain Murder Mystery
I am loving this series, absolutely everything about it! From the atmosphere in the small town, the people who live in it, the law enforcement who protect and serve it, to the swoon-worthy, ah so deliciously luscious love stories, and the intense, up-close-and dangerous suspense that puts the main characters into the dire straits, I enjoyed every single moment of it.
Deputy Gage Walker is not only charming and handsome, he is a man of dignity, honor, and loyalty. He takes his job seriously, he sincerely cares about the people in his town, he has a big heart, he shows kindness and gentleness when needed, yet he takes a charge, he determined, giving up is not a concept to him. Maya Renfro, the poetry slamming high school teacher who never thought she would have to claim the promise to be a guardian to her niece if something were to happen to Casey's parents. Maya is quirky, she loves her family, she heartbroken from the loss of her sister, but her resilient mind and heart are determined not to let little Casey down. Casey was an amazing, sweet, smart, capable five-year-old survivor. I love how she connected with Gage, the immediate bond between was palpable, and the fragile trust Casey gave to Gage, she knew it would be treasured and never broken. And the connection goes double fold between Maya and Gage, it is sizzling hot, the attraction is tangible in the air, yet it is the tender adoration and the sweet need to protect and take care of the other that shines through in their insta-love story. I loved how equal they were with each other in any and every situation. Even when facing the horrifying danger, they were able to work as one unit, as partners, and as a team with Casey when the need arises. The tension and uncertainty in the town caused by the recent murders and the continues threat they bring to the protagonists are chilling and terrifying. There is no place that is safe, there is no moment they can ease their vigilance, the danger is close, and the culprits seem to know all the routines of the town and the sheriff's office. The story held me enamored with the precious connection to Casey who has to endure so much at the tender age, with the delectable romance building up between Maya and Gage, and with the critical, nail-biting, keyed up, fatal suspense and action. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side ![]()
