The Best I Never Had
DeVine Winery # 1 By: Lori Flowers Releasing May 5, 2015 Self-Published
New job, new town, new people— new life.
That’s what Olivia Langston needed. At twenty eight, she was given a rare opportunity at an internship in the rolling valleys of Crystal Falls in California wine country, far away from her small town roots in North Carolina. It was an unexpected journey she desperately needed after her ex-husband crushed her. At DeVine Winery, she expected a fresh start in a new environment to help let go of her past. Instead, she found Daniel Black and a hell of a lot of sexual tension she wasn’t prepared for. He was gorgeous, modestly wealthy, irresistible, and just happened to be part owner of DeVine, one of the largest vineyards in the country. If only she knew that before she kissed him her first night in town.
When Evelyn disappeared into another room, I pierced Daniel with a hard glare. He’d gotten his wish, to some degree, after all. Dinner had been his idea, and if he couldn’t get me alone for it, then having me at his mother’s house was the next best thing.
“Are you always used to getting your way?” “Sometimes.” “Well, this was the last time from me.” I stood up abruptly, the chair legs screeching on the hardwood floor, and hurried to the door. I made it out and halfway down the walkway before Daniel latched onto my wrist and pulled me to a stop. “Don’t leave like this. Not while you’re angry.” I snatched my hand from his grasp and spun around. “I’ve told you on several occasions that I won’t get involved with my boss.” “I’m not your boss, my mother is.” “That is exactly why it makes you off limits.” “I’m a thirty-five-year-old grown man. I’m capable of making my own decisions.” “Then you’ve been around long enough to know when a woman tells you she’s not interested, then she’s not interested.” I took a few steps backwards and found myself between him the water fountain. Taking a step forward, he prevented my retreat and scanned my face with seriousness I hadn’t seen before. “You can say you’re not interested all you want, but the way those gorgeous eyes follow my movements in the office speak something entirely different.” “Really? And what exactly do you think my eyes are saying?” I countered. I was out of my league with the snarky comeback. Trying to pretend he didn’t affect me was pointless. But if I could manage to stay strong, he’d give up. Eventually. “You can’t stop thinking about that night. No matter how hard you try, you can’t ignore what happen and how it made you feel.” “Well, you need to get your eyes checked then. How it made me feel makes no difference. I have five and half months left in this internship before I move on. Getting caught up in you, or anyone else, isn’t going to do me any favors. I’m over what happened already. It’s about time you get over it too.” “Is there something wrong with enjoying yourself while you’re here?” I stared—shocked that he’d consider something so casual. I had no doubt he’d be good in bed, but I wasn’t that type of woman. I didn’t sleep around for the pure enjoyment of it. Sex meant more to me than that. It was special, a one-of-a-kind connection you didn’t find with someone random. It was what I thought I had with my ex-husband. “No. There’s nothing wrong with being causal if that’s the type of person you are. But I’m not one of those people. And getting into a relationship, of any kind, is so far down on my to-do list, it’s practically nonexistent.” I blew out a heavy breath, relieved to get all of that off my chest, but my breaths were still heavy. My hormones didn’t get the memo my brain sent. He was too close. Smelled delicious. And sexy as hell. “Move so I can go home. Please,” I added. “Okay, but can you do one thing for me before you go?” “What?” I put my hand on my hip, annoyed. “Kiss me again.” Meet the author Loni Flowers

He's kryptonite. And she needs all her strength…
Noah Parks is the ridiculously gorgeous, motorcycle-riding, cage-match-fighting equivalent of kryptonite for Lindsay Harper. And she's going to need every last ounce of her strength now that she's the legal guardian of her brother's five orphaned children. For the sake of her new family, it's time to give up her carefree single ways. Stop being the cool aunt and become a parent. And fight this crazy attraction to Noah. Sure, there's a side of him she can't help falling for…the one who volunteers as a firefighter and helps at-risk youth. The irresistibly kind and caring side. But she is a nurse, after all. She can't love an MMA fighter, a man she regularly has to scan for physical trauma… Can she?
This story is listed as a 'Heartwarming' with Harlequin, and that it is.
The death of Lindsay's brother and sister-in-law was heartbreaking. The devastation of the family, children, and friends, moved me to tears. The challenge Lindsay had with the children, suddenly being guardian for 5 kids, was enormous. She has a reputation of being an easy going, single-life-loving fun girl, and the responsibility of the children seemed something no one thought she could handle. But she is tough, persistent, and stubborn, while loving and caring the kids, determined to make it. Noah, even though a fighter, is so kindhearted, caring, always willing to help. It was easy to like him, and his loving spirit. Lindsay and Noah have many challenges, the responsibilities in their lives seem to come in between them constantly. But in this heartfelt, pure and clean story, love wins on many different levels, even though it requires a major life changes from all ~ Four Spoons
Running Fire
(Shadow Warriors #8) by Lindsay McKenna April 28th 2015 HQN Books
He was a haven in the midst of Hell…
Temporarily assigned to the Shadow Squadron in a troubled region of Afghanistan, Chief Warrant Officer and pilot Leah Mackenzie is no stranger to conflict—even if most of her physical and emotional scars are courtesy of her vicious ex. Still, she's got a bad feeling about picking up a team of stranded SEALs. A feeling that's all too justified once enemy fire hits their helicopter and all hell breaks loose… SEAL Kell Ballard's goal was to get the injured pilot out of harm's way and find shelter deep in the labyrinth of caves. It's a place of dark intimacy, where Leah finds unexpected safety in a man's arms. Where prohibited attraction burns brightly. And where they'll hide until the time comes to face the enemy outside…and the enemy within their ranks.
Intense and emotional military romance.
Leah has collected the broken pieces of her life, from a difficult childhood to her abusive ex husband, and made herself a career in the military. She is capable and professional pilot on the outside, but inside, she is still suffering from her father's neglect and the brutal abuse during her marriage. Kell is a SEAL sniper, he is a healer by nature, loving, caring, loyal, protective, and a true hero. Kell's parents raised him and his brothers in the rural mountains of Kentucky to be upstanding men, who respect women, and treat them as equals. After rescuing Leah from the deadly attack on the mountains, Kell soon realizes, the nightmares Leah is having, has nothing to do with the military attack, but comes from somewhere deeper from her history. As Kell takes care of Leah's outside wounds in the caves of the mountains, the form a connection and friendship. In the intense situation, where danger is constantly present, Kell's caring, loving attitude helps Leah to share her past, and the abuse she has suffered from. Long conversations in the caves, forms a trust between Kell and Leah, and Kell's healing hands, patience, honesty, tenderness and kindness don't only take care of the wounds on her skin, but also starts a healing process in her heart and soul. For a short time, the caves become their 'home', their haven in the hell. The form a team, where they work together to escape the mountains, and the Taliban. After the escape from the mountains, back in the base, Leah has to face her past, her father, and the power abusing ex-husband. The events that follow, will change the future for Leah and Kell, as suddenly both of them are at the crossroads of their lives. Even though the danger and threat of the war, and Leah's past, is continual, the main focus of the story is the beautiful, fragile relationship forming between Leah and Kell. Leah's wakening to the sensual pleasures of being a woman creates highly emotional scenes. Her truly broken soul is pieced together by Kell, and by the love and acceptance of his family. I was surprised how many similarities this story has with the previous book in the series, Taking Fire. This is a book eight in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. ~ Four Spoons Meet the author: Lindsay McKenna
I've lived six lives in one and it all shows up in the books I write, one way or another.
I was always a risk taker and broke mustangs at thirteen years old in Oregon. I learn to break them with love, not threat or pain. At 17 years old, I picked night-crawlers (worms) out in our Oregon orchards from 9pm to midnight, every night. I earned enough money to buy my school clothes and book. I also plunked down $600 to a flight company at the Medford, Oregon airport and asked them to teach me...a girl...to fly. I soloed in 12 hours, which is average. From that time until I left for the US Navy at 18, I had accrued 39 hours of flight time in my Cessna 150 single engine airplane. I was in the US military and was an AG3 (weather forecaster). There was no airplane club, so I couldn't fly when I was in the Navy. But I could look at the clouds in the sky ;-). Later, I flew in a B-52 bomber for a day and night mission (18 hours total), a T-38 Talon jet, USAF, where I was riding in a "chase plane" on a test flight in a Dragonfly jet. I was one of the first AFLA (American Fencing League of America) women fencers to fence with epee and sabre. These weapons were closed to women because they were too 'heavy' for a female to handle. I said baloney and fought the males and won half my bouts. I was part of a surge of women fencers on the East Coast in the 1970's to push for equality in the sport. Together, we changed the sport and changed the mind of the men. Today? In the Olympics? Women now fence in foil, epee and sabre, thanks to what we did as a vanguard showing the world it could be done. I then became a volunteer firefighter when I was a civilian once more, the first woman in an all - male fire department in West Point, Ohio for three years. I became a local expert not only in firefighting, driving the engine and tanker trunks, but also had training in hazardous material (Reynoldsburg Fire Academy, Columbus, OH). My books always reflect what I experienced. If you like edgy, gritty, deeply and emotionally intense love stories with sympathetic heroes and heroines, check out my newest series that will be available mid-Oct. 2015, and it incorporates much of what I have lived. The doctor everyone's talking about!
When a deliciously naughty photo of pediatric transplant surgeon Matteo Finelli goes viral, social media expert Ivy Leigh is called in to discipline him. It will be a challenge…especially as Ivy is far from immune to Matteo's charismatic charm herself! Dedicated doc Matteo doesn't care about social media policy—he's far more interested in uncovering the warm, vulnerable heart Ivy hides beneath her suit jacket. The chemistry between them is sizzling, but can he persuade ever-cautious Ivy to take a risk and give in to an irresistible temptation?
Fun, entertaining medical romance, with touching family issues, and lessons in social media conduct.
When Ivy Leigh (I know, did her mother not like her, or what's up with the name?!) meets Matteo Finelli, the sparks are flying. Not necessarily the best kinds, they don't seem to be able to agree on one single issue. The game is on, competitions are declared, and the bickering is off. While facing the challenges tossed to each other, the attraction takes root, despite the fact that neither of them are on the market for a relationship. But the pull for each other is strong, and when, after several encounters they end up together on road trip up to northern England, and they get to know each other better, deeper feelings steps into the play. Both Ivy and Matteo have their issues to deal with, past hurt, disappointments, broken trust. While sharing with each other, healing starts to take place. While an entertaining romantic story, with constant banter and fun ribbing, there's also lessons in difficult family dynamics, dangers of sharing in social media, the importance of organ donation, not to mention in trust, honesty, and love ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

What an amazing ending to an outstanding series!
I love Kaylea Cross' suspense and military series, and Bagram Special Ops is my favorite military series. It is well written, with engaging tales, characters that you can't help but admire, and stories that stay with you. I have cheered for the good guys, and bitten my nails off with the action and drama unfolding, swooned for hero, heroines and the sweet, tender fragile romances between them. And given a standing ovation to the loyalty, braveness, and camaraderie of the troops. Collateral Damage is the story of Honor and Liam. And it is an emotional journey, roll-a-coaster of feelings, heartbreak, and hurts, as well as deep passion, love, protectiveness, and devotion. The choices they make, the difficult situations they face, the way they have to go through agonizing times of waiting, growing, and realizing the priorities in their lives, left me in tears. But the good, tender, and sweet times are so potent, so breathtaking, they are well worth the sleepless night I spent with this book. Both Honor and Liam made mistakes, and finally owned up to them. They are strong, capable, brave and professional, protective and loyal, not a afraid to stand up and go for action when it is needed. The action is so fierce, raw, and bloody, it left me gasping. The pictures, images, the author paints are so real, I could feel the fear, agony, and terror. Part of the story is told from the villain's point of view, giving the story more depth and broader view of events occurring. I whole heartily recommend Bagram Special Ops series, or any of Kaylea Cross' books. If you like stories with a mix of action, suspense, and romance, where the heroines are strong and capable to kick ass as well as the heroes, characters that are not perfect, and willing to work on their weaknesses and failures, where the steaming hot romance is completely swoon worthy, and action makes your heart race, these books are for you. The story of Liam and Honor was well worth the wait, and absolutely a perfect ending for this fantastic series ~ Five Spoons!!
Stand Off
Predators MC # 2 By: Jamie Begley Releasing May 2, 2015 Young Ink Press
One mistake can change your life forever.
Casey had spent most of her life watching the Predators control Queen City, never believing they could be brought to justice. She was the one who always passed unnoticed as Max’s stepsister. They underestimated what she was capable of until it was almost too late. When the Predators discovered they were her prey, there was hell to pay, and Casey was going to have to pay her dues with her soul.
One mistake can fuck up your life forever.
Max trusted his stepsister, not believing for a second she would betray the Predators. She used her body to get what she wanted, and now Max would use the same wiles on her to trap Casey in her own web of deceit. The Predators demanded revenge, and Max was going to see they got what they wanted, even if the price was his soul. This was one standoff neither was going to win.
Prologue
Casey stared down at the letter in her hand, swallowing hard. Carefully folding the legal document, she placed it back in the envelope and onto the kitchen table, where she stared at it, silently debating how to handle the dilemma. The person responsible for turning her world upside down thought she was without options. He was mistaken. She had a way of dealing with him so she would never have to fear him again. However, if she went through with her plan, it would place her life in danger. She could lose the ones closest to her. Casey bit her lip. Was she strong enough to face the fear she had avoided for years? Searching through her purse, she found the card in her wallet that she had shoved there months before. Taking a shuddering breath, she dialed the number, and a male voice answered. “This is Casey Harris. Do you remember me?” “Hi, Casey. Of course I remember you. What can I do for you?” “Is your offer still open?” “Yes, have you reconsidered?” Casey paused. Then, before she could change her mind, she blurted out her answer. “If I help you out, then I’m going to need something in return.” “We don’t pay informants.” His amicable voice went cold. “It’s not money I want,” Casey denied hastily. “What do you want, then?” “I’ll tell you when we meet.” “What if I can’t do it?” “Then neither one of us will be getting what we want.” Casey made her voice firm. “Meet me in an hour at the coffee shop on Elk Street.” “I’ll be there.” Casey disconnected the call, laying her cell phone back down on the table with trembling fingers. She had actually done it. Even though she had been left with no choice, it still bothered her that she would be betraying those who trusted her. Casey stared at the picture on her wall, dispelling her doubts. The choice had been taken out of her hands. Standing, she picked up her purse and the letter. To get the help she desperately needed, she was going to have to do something that several law enforcement agencies, rival clubs, and victims had tried to do for years without success. The Predators were finally going to be brought to justice. Her eyes were caught by the picture again. If she didn’t succeed, she wouldn’t be the only one paying the price with their life. Taking after my mother, I've always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations. For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books. When strange things start happening with increasing frequency around town, even a tough skeptic like Tom is tested. The question is, can Allie and Tom stop fighting long enough to get to the bottom of Whispering Bay’s ghost problem—and the more important matter of mending their broken hearts
This story touched my heart. It is filled with small town atmosphere, family connections, second chances, teenage angst, and love in all forms. And it all started with a ghost story.
Allie is trying to settle down in life, and reach her next life goal, full time job with benefits, after all, thirty is right here. She is sassy, and smart, loyal and kind, long legged beauty, journalist, waitress, and in trouble: she needs this article to get the full time job. Tom is all around a good man. He is successful in his career, he is a great father, kind man with a big heart, and hot as all get out. The connection between Tom and Allie is bittersweet. The history they have is heartbreaking, and now the sexual tension is so tight, you can feel it in the air. They seem like the couple you want to cheer on, to do anything to make it work out. The story is filled with compelling characters. I loved that they were so real, they had problems, nothing was perfect, but their life was like it is, some great things, with some failures, some heartbreak, some happiness, overall satisfying lives of the chances given to you. This tender story made me smile, it made me sigh, and it gave me some tears, and the tale will surely stay with me for a time ~ Five Spoons!
The Devilish Mr. Danvers
The Rakes of Fallow Hall # 2 By: Vivienne Lorret Releasing April 21, 2015 Avon Impulse
For the first time in her life, Hedley Sinclair holds the keys to her own future. She’s inherited the crumbling Greyson Park, but the disrepair does nothing to dissuade her. No one will ever lock her up again or attempt to take away what’s hers. No one except Rafe Danvers—the charming, fiendish man from Fallow Hall. He’s determined to claim Greyson Park, but if Hedley isn’t careful, he’ll claim her heart as well.
Rafe has every intention of ridding Greyson Park of the conniving Sinclairs, once and for all. The last thing he expects is to find the beguiling Hedley Sinclair—the younger sister of his former fiancée—standing in his way. With drastic measures called for, he plans to marry her off in order to regain control of the estate. The only trouble is, he can’t seem to stop seducing her. Even worse, he can’t help falling in love with her.
Used to relying on herself, Hedley lifted one of the shawls from her shoulders and draped it over her hair. Tying it at her neck like a little old woman, she made her way through the house and outside by way of the kitchen. A steady drizzle greeted her. Sort of. The truth was, the rain felt more like tiny, frozen shards of glass. Already, the hard clay path to the woodpile was slick, covered with a fine sheen of ice. The soles of her shoes slid over the crackling ground, and fog as thick as pillow stuffing obscured her view of the shrubs, trees and outbuildings. She didn’t mind that, however. Not having a glimpse of the carriage house suited her nerves. Just thinking of it, in fact, sent an icy shudder through her, making her grateful that she lived apart from those who knew her shameful secret. A dog howled, startling her away from her thoughts. The nearness of the mournful bay stole the breath from her body. She only hoped the animal was friendly.
USA Today bestselling author VIVIENNE LORRET loves romance novels, her pink laptop, her husband, and her two sons (not necessarily in that order ... but there are days). Transforming copious amounts of tea into words, she is proud to be an Avon Impulse author of works including: “Tempting Mr. Weatherstone”, The Wallflower Wedding Series, and the Rakes of Fallow Hall series.

I write for the same reason I read—to escape reality.
Don’t get me wrong, my life rocks. I have two, beautiful little girls, a good husband, a steady job, and the kind of friends who will take you out back and beat you if you hurt me. But just like most other women, I’ve got endless obligations. So, when the world beats me down, I slip into something…less realistic. Romance is a must. So is steamy sex. Nothing thrills me more than the fantasy of exciting new worlds, strong, intuitive men and the sigh of, “Oh, if only that could happen to me.” So, if you’re picking up a book of mine, expect the unlikely. In the real world, most women don’t get swept off their feet by some billionaire Adonis or fall down the bunny hole into an alternate realm. In my fictional world, it’s a pretty safe bet.
