Barrel rider Reba Duvall has been crushing on Nick Blue since the moment they met, but she kicked him to the friend zone to keep her heart from being bruised and battered by the charmer... until they turn to each other for comfort when their best friend dies. Reba knows it’s for one night only, but still, it hurts to wake up alone. But it turns out a memory is not all Nick left her with...
Nick Blue never guessed his father was one of the richest men in Texas. Or that he’d have to live in Whiskey River with two unknown brothers for a year to inherit his share of the family property. But hey, stranger things have happened, such as bumping into his friend and one time lover in that same town... the one he hasn't been able to stop thinking about all this time. But running into Nick is not an accident. Reba has a plan. She wants baby Martina to know her father. Reba may not know what she wants from Nick, but it sure isn’t a half-assed marriage proposal and sharing a luxurious bedroom at Kelly Ranch. She plans to keep things platonic. Can Nick convince her she needs more than one night with the playboy? Whiskey River series Book 1: Where There's a Will by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy Book 2: One Night with the Cowboy by Eve Gaddy Book 3: One Night with the Tycoon by Katherine Garbera Book 4: One Night with the Bad Boy by Eve Gaddy Book 5: One Night with the Playboy by Katherine Garbera
I have enjoyed the Whiskey River Series, and the brothers getting to know each other and finding their forever partners in life. I think Nick's story is my favorite, I have been looking forward to meet the woman, who could get this flirting cowboy fall on his knees.
Reba truly is his match, in every possible way. They have been friends for a long time, and the tragic death of their best friend threw them together, while comforting each other. That night had consequences, neither of them expected. I liked both Reba and Nick, they have such a genuine connection with each other. They know each other better than most, and are not afraid to call each other on the lies and pretend. The relationship is based on more than just lust, there's a solid friendship and respect with the attraction and chemistry. They are both broken, not only from the death of Marty, but the issues of their own family, growing up, relationships, and parenthood. While acting on their attraction to each other, they are working on these issues, trying to figure out what the future holds, and be brave enough to admit and face their feelings towards each other. Nothing comes easy, but with raw honesty, and long conversations, and a little help from his brothers, they will figure it all out. The brothers always have each others back, I love how they always show up when one of them needs them, and always provide advice, wisecracks, and few laughs. The Kelly and Blue brother have gone through a huge change in their lives through the series, have found the new family unit within each other, and love to their lives. I have enjoyed these short stories, the humor, the brotherhood, and the steamy romances, the solid entertainment the series is ~ Four Spoons

Whoever claimed it’s better to have loved and lost has never met Jess Palmer.
Small business owner and metalworks artist Damon Brand finally has his future in sight when his past rattles into town in a broken down car stuffed with designer clothes and sky high heels. The last time he saw Jess, he declared his undying love. In return, she stranded him by the side of the road, taking his boots, pants and the tattered remnants of his heart. So much for the bright lights of LA. Failed actress Jessica Palmer arrives back in Cherry Lake, Montana homeless, destitute, and desperate. She’s hoping her grandfather will let her have her inheritance early so she can make a fresh start—anywhere but Cherry Lake. No deal. She has to stay for six months and get a job to prove she’s matured. Not easy in a town where she flamed all her bridges in order to flee a wild child reputation and her high school sweetheart. With every door that’s slammed shut in her face, Jess grows more determined than ever to prove she’s changed, even if it means she must turn to her first love, Damon, for a job at his gas station. Surely 10 years is enough time for him to forgive and forget… Secrets of Cherry Lake series Prequel/Book 1: Small Town Secrets by Roxanne Snopek Book 2: The Secret Son by Joan Kilby Book 3: Her Secret Love by Paula Altenburg Book 4: Her Secret Protector by Roxanne Snopek Book 5: The Secret Bride by Jeannie Watt
What an emotional, heartwarming story, that completely won me over.
I love Jess and Damon, both as individuals, and as a couple. Damon is working hard, both with his art and with his service station, he is supporting his family, even at times his friends, and doing the responsible thing, so his family would never go without again. Jess was a troubled soul in high school, she had no filter, said things that were harmful, to cover up her over insecurities, things she saw as a failure in herself. What she really wanted, was some attention from her parents, and to be accepted, even though she made it difficult at times. Now she is back, and needing help like never before. And Damon is the only one, who accepts her, takes her in, and helps her out. Even after all the history they have together, that didn't end well at all. There were so many deep issues here, the need for acceptance, Damon's family struggling and his sacrifices to make it all work out, and Jess, how her dyslexia had affected her all her life, how she had been misunderstood most of the time. No, she's not perfect, but then again, who is?! Together Damon and Jess are adorable, they have passion, attraction, and also much deeper connection between them. They get each other in a unique way that only close friends do, and are there for each other when needed. I am loving this series so much, I think each story is just getting better, the more we get to know the folks of the town. They are genuine, honest to the fault, with the typical small town gossip. But what I love even more are the couples, how they respect, admire, and adore each other, and take their time to fall in love, without any big drama and angst beyond what life gives you anyway. These are stories that warms your heart, and makes you smile, and leaves you all in a happy state of mind. Jess and Damon are a great example of this, with their friendship, life goals, and the way they cherish each other ~ Five Spoons
Mikhail Lysenko, a tall, dark, and deadly corporate shark, is buying up ailing companies during the financial crisis worldwide, cherry-picking the best parts, and disposing of the dead wood.
Lindsay Carlisle is a sexy, long-legged, ruthless lawyer whose client is determined to hold out against a Lysenko take-over. And when Mikhail’s laser business focus hones in on Lindsay and becomes personal, very personal, she doesn't know whether his interest is genuine or a means of undermining her client's case. Regardless, there's no way she’s going to be added to the list of women who’ve jumped into the sexy millionaire’s bed. Trying to resist Mikhail and keep work her priority is more than enough to deal with, but then someone begins anonymously sending Lindsay roses… black roses. As a love token? Or something more sinister? She may have to run into Mikhail’s arms and allow him to save her from her secret admirer..
Short and passionate story, with lots of emotions, and insta-lust.
The desire Mikhail and Lindsay have for each other is tangible in the air, from the first moment they are in the same scene. The graphic thoughts, and conversations, they have, building up for their fulfillment of their fantasies, goes into the details, as well as the sex-a-thon they have afterwards. Yes, Lindsay says 'no' to him, but that just seems to raise the heat between them. Mikhail, or Mischa (bear in Russian) as he likes her to call him in bed, is arrogant, forceful, even rude at times, commanding, overpowering, who has never heard the word no before... But he is also caring, thoughtful, protective, and affectionate, when Lindsay needs it. His Mikhail/Mischa changing trait is a bit odd, like a split personality, that I don't think was meant to be amusing, even though I did find humor in it. Lindsay is a junior status lawyer, she is goal oriented, focusing on her career, and reeling from her former boyfriends cheating ways. Her instant lust and desire towards Mikhail has woken up her fantasies and desires like never before, leaving her hazy with longing. When danger and menace comes to her door, Mikhail is there to protect her, to take care of her, and ultimately, step in front of the danger to save her. The ending took me completely by surprise, I wasn't quite ready for that bombshell. But overall, it is a steaming hot, graphic story, filled with sensual thoughts and actions, mixed with a bit of danger, and few surprises ~ Three Spoons
Undercover lover
A quiet, civilian life on Whidbey Island sounded great to navy lawyer Joy Alexander. But when navy SEAL-turned-FBI agent Brad Iverson shows up on her doorstep bruised and bleeding, she realizes it's not so easy to leave the past behind. Even harder to forget are the feelings she once had for Brad. Brad's on an undercover operation, one that's targeting potential terrorists…and unintentionally bringing danger to Joy. They'll have to work together again, except this time it's not only justice they're after—it's survival. If they make it that far, they won't waste a second chance at love.
Just when she thought a new peaceful life away from the military was about to start, an attempted terrorist attack happens right at her doorsteps, and the one person she cares most about, is in danger.
I liked both Joy and Brad, they have an obvious connection, they share the same interests, and they background is similar. The attraction between them has been simmering ever since they met, but with the military protocol, was impossible to act on. Now they are both civilian, but the life and death situation is not a great place to start a relationship. Because of that, there was a lot of back and forth - I want you, but can't have you, type of thinking. The characters were well thought out, they had depth, and honesty about them. They were not perfect by any sense, and therefore more real and solid. The terrorist plot, the danger they were in was substantial. There wasn't that much action, but a lot theories, suspicion, and conspiracy. The tensions rise as the theories are examined. Some of the twists in the plot seemed too far out, and the evidence seemed to be found out of nothing, on a very thin base. There was a secondary love interest between Joy's best friend, Emily, and Ben. I didn't really understand what was the purpose to share their story with Brad and Joy. It seemed more like a filler. The story was well detailed with the military protocol, missions, and functions. The research and fight against terrorist Joy and Brad did is commendable and dedicated. The feelings for they have for each other are palpable, but it takes work, and deadly fear, for them to understand the depth of those feelings. Intriguing story, with passion for life, the work they do, and for each other ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
A birthday card out of the blue from his estranged father sends successful Seattle marketing man Alex Chernoff on a detour to Cherry Lake in search of answers about his past. A day, maybe two, to tie up loose strings and he’ll be out of there, heading for Mexico, margaritas and blondes in bikinis.
Emma Stanhope is all too familiar with hot, rich, entitled guys like Alex. They never hang around for long, especially not for a Plain Jane like herself. No problem. She’s smart and logical, like any good scientist, and knows better than to lose her heart. What Emma doesn’t count on is chemistry—of the romantic kind. What Alex doesn’t count on is meeting the girl who’ll make him want to change his ways. But when he learns that he’s a secret from his father’s real family, he can’t stay in Cherry Lake… even if he wants to. Will love be enough to convince Alex to stay… for good? Secrets of Cherry Lake series Prequel: Small Town Secrets by Roxanne Snopek Book 1: The Secret Son by Joan Kilby Book 2: Her Secret Love by Paula Altenberg Book 3: Her Secret Protector by Roxanne Snopek Book 4: The Secret Bride by Jeannie Watt
They're so much honesty and warmth in this story, as well as heartache difficult family situations.
My heart went out to Alex, all he really wanted was to belong, have a family and find love. He was so earnest with his desire, he was willing to compromise. The father he had admired as a young boy, turned out to be a disappointment, and selfish. I really didn't like Robert, the father. I think he was a weak coward. He rather hides and ignore his son, that owns up to his behavior, and take responsibility for his action. But the rest of the family more than made up for his behavior. I loved, absolutely adored, his sibling's reaction. And the first meeting between Alex and Nate had me in tears. Alex and Emma had a fun relationship, I thought they were a hoot together! The interaction between these two was so entertaining. The time span is short in the story, and the built up to the relationship is more detailed, than the growth of it, but they have chemistry, passion, attraction between them. They also have understanding, refreshing honesty, and support. There's also an epilogue that ties up the story between Alex and Emma, and gives more credibility to their fast growing feelings. Lovely small town, filled with interesting, deep characters, families, intriguing destinies, secrets, and love. I am already loving this series, and can't wait to read more about the family ~ Four Spoon with a teaspoon on the side

WHAT THE HELL HAD SHE BEEN THINKING? Natasha’s thoughts hammered hard the next morning as she walked the six blocks from Inspire to the Rock Wren Café. Petals from cherry blossoms, blown loose by a gentle breeze, swirled on the sidewalk and danced in the sunlight, but she barely registered the gorgeous April morning.
What had possessed her to say yes? To agree to meet Dumas—or whatever his name was—at a café? To go to a botanical garden God only knew where? She ordered a black coffee and chose a seat outside in the dappled sunlight. The Rock Wren Café had darned fine coffee. A cup of coffee she could afford. Pastries, no. Not yet. But she’d eyed the croissants as she’d stood at the counter and wished for the day when her choices wouldn’t be so difficult. She’d said no right off when he’d called. Very clearly. Told him she was busy for weeks. He’d laughed and said that life required that we make space in our schedules for spring. Otherwise the powers that went to immense bother to conjure up such beauty would be vexed. She’d had no answer to that. And then he’d again asked her to go with him to the Asian Botanical Garden. A walk, he’d said. Just a walk. And she heard herself say yes. She sipped the coffee, and it burned a trail of heat down her throat. Each time a car pulled up in the parking spaces near the café, Natasha watched as doors opened and drivers stepped out. What had he looked like? She hadn’t seen much of his face, but she’d recognize his eyes if he were close enough. And she’d know his smile. She’d seen his smile in her dreams. She hadn’t had the old dream last night—the dream where her mother insisted that number seventeen would lead to her destiny, the dream that lit a fuse of shame every time she awakened and remembered her foolish gamble. But the sensual, almost magical dream that had replaced it had shaken her to her core. Her coffee cooled as she sat waiting. Twice she started to get up and leave. Both times she talked her fear down. What harm could there be in taking a walk in a public garden? A silver sports car pulled up halfway down the block. The door opened. The driver stepped out and ran a hand through his hair. Even though he wore mirrored sunglasses, she recognized his dark curly hair and broad shoulders. And his height. Not many men were six foot three or so. He ran his hand through his hair again. Maybe he was nervous too. He looked down the street, saw her, then he smiled and raised a hand in a friendly salute. Her hormones did a tap dance in her belly, tattooing their glee through her veins. She’d have to have a word with the rascals when she returned home. He covered the distance between his car and the café in strong, confident strides. Maybe he wasn’t nervous after all. That thought made Natasha’s own nerves spike. No wonder teenagers melted down during their dating years; meeting up with another person was serious business. But this wasn’t a date. It was just a walk. In a botanical garden. Right. “Forgive me for being late. I was…” He appeared to be searching for a word. His Italian accent made him sound like someone out of a movie. She tipped her head to study him. So maybe she wasn’t the only one who sometimes couldn’t marshal words to her beck and call. “I was detained,” he finally said and held out his hand. “Adrian.” He grinned. “The impostor musketeer formerly known as Dumas.” A simple grin shouldn’t shoot heat straight to her belly, so of course it did. She was way out of practice in the realm that involved men. Heck, she’d never been in practice. She’d had relationships with exactly three guys. Well, Eddie didn’t count as a relationship, even though she’d had sex with him. Sex that she’d regretted five minutes after he’d slid off her with a menacing look in his eyes. Eddie had put her off men for years, planted fear when he’d planted his fists. And her two other failed experiences hadn’t done anything to heal those fears. She battled back her maudlin memories and shook his hand. He placed his other hand over hers. “Tasha.” His velvet-smooth voice could charm a cobra. “Is it Tasha?” No. No. No. No. She was not feeling heat charge through her body just from the touch of his hands. She was not melting at a simple touch and the purr of a smooth voice. “Yes.” Her pulse hammered. And her mouth went dry. He wasn’t Eddie, and she’d be okay. Her pulse hammered faster. Anxiety ripped through her. She wouldn’t be okay. Maybe she should run. She hadn’t counted on being afraid. Maybe she should tell him she’d changed her mind. Maybe--

OXFORD Series #1

âYouâre looking . . . glamorous,â Camille said, as Emma crossed her legs and carefully made sure her short satin dress didnât ride up.
âLong story,â Emma said. Though her friends had an easy relationship with Camille, Emma was newer to the groupânewer to Stilettoâand she wasnât quite secure enough in her position at the company to run her mouth. Not that Emma was ever one to run her mouth. She was more the live-and-let-live type. It was a natural evolution for someone whoâd grown up with a twin sister whoâd had more than enough personality for the both of them. And speaking of her twin, Emma had no doubt that Daisyâs southern-belle sensibilities would probably be all why, I never! if she could see Emmaâs current state of dishevelment. Emmaâs perfectly coiffed sister would have found a way to emerge from a flooded apartment looking every bit as darling as she had at the daffodil parades. All the daffodil parades. It hadnât been easy being Daisy Sinclairâs quiet, boring sister. When they were growing up, Daisy had been the quintessential little princess. She always wore dresses, and the dresses would never have lemonade spilled down the front like Emmaâs. Daisy knew exactly what to say to boys to make them fall all over themselves, whereas Emma had been horribly shy around the opposite sex. When Emma had gotten engaged first, sheâd been braced for Daisyâs resentment. Not because Daisy was generally resentful, but because everyoneâEmma includedâhad assumed that Daisy would be the first sister down the aisle. But nobody had been happier for Emma and Cassidy than Daisy. Because as if it werenât enough that Daisy were the charming one, she was also good. Emma would be annoyed if she didnât love her sister so damn much. And as it turned out, Daisy had been the firstâand onlyâtwin to walk down the aisle after all. Of course, sheâd also been the only sister to get divorced. Daisy always joked that the twins had two unshakable things in common: a face and a shit-ton of heartache. Except Daisy hadnât actually said the âshit-tonâ part. That was Emmaâs special profane spin on the situation. âIâll tell you mine if you tell me yours,â Camille said. âSorry?â Camille pointed a coral fingernail at Emmaâs still-damp hair. âYou tell me why youâre rocking the fresh-outta-the-shower look, and Iâll tell you while Iâm leaving my darling magazine in the hands of one of the Oxford buffoons.â Emma pursed her lips. Couldnât argue about the buffoon part. Although she was pretty sure that, despite her bossâs words, there was plenty of mutual respect between Cassidy and Camille. Still, Camille always saw Oxford as a bit of an enemy. The competition, so to speak.

Maggie and Cooper have ignored the burn of attraction for six years. Maggie’s not willing to risk their friendship or her son’s heartbreak when Cooper inevitably leaves to compete, but what if this time Cooper stays and Maggie allows their second chance at love to flame? The Millionaire Malone Series Book 1:The Millionaire Book 2: The CEO Book 3: The Rebel
This story has so much light, love, joy, and new chances in life, it is sweet, adorable, and sexy, and left me beaming with a smile.
Maggie and Cooper has so much love between them, the affection and friendship they have invested on for the past five years, is something to be treasured. The chemistry, connection, attraction, it's all there, in abundance. They are natural together, with trust, loyalty, and protectiveness between them. Evan, Maggie's son, is too cute for words. His relationship with Cooper is admirable, the way Cooper has been part of their lives ever since Evan was born, being the constant, role model, solid in Evan's life, to take the responsibility his father never took. I loved how the relationship between them evolved, how the feelings they have for each other came to light, without too much drama and angst, they accepted and embraced the new possibilities they have in life. There's so much to swoon over in this story, so much to feel good about, and smile about. It is delightful, charming and sexy story, light on tragedy and conflict, and heavy on all the good things in life, and in that sense a true feel good story ~ Five Spoons!
The graduating class of Cherry Lake High School is celebrating their freedom with the traditional camp-out in the Jackson Cherry Orchard on the banks of Flathead Lake, Montana. Nate and Pansy feel that they are guardians of the town, its children and keepers of their secrets. In a short story, we go through so much family history, relationships, romance, heartache, and joy.
As a book one in the new series, Secrets of Cherry Lake, it gives us a sweet, yet touching story, about how life sometimes doesn't go as we plan, how the best intentions sometimes are not the best for us, and how life can make a full circle, things happen, life happen, and in the end, we only can say, what matters most is love. I adore this short read, Pansy, Nate and Mary did the best they could with the cards they were dealt with, and the responsibilities they were given. The dissensions were not easy, and some of them were costly, but through all the heartache, love wins at the end. The story is beautifully written, just flowing off the pages, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series, and hear about the other destinies at Cherry Lake. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
Ryker
Cold Fury Hockey # 4 By: Sawyer Bennett Releasing September 8, 2015 Loveswept
The rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.
The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start. As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure is on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.
I first met Ryker in the previous book in the series, and I was intrigued to find out more about him. He's such a great hero, so strong, solid, loyal man, with priorities straight, putting his daughters first, and taking such a tender care of them. The start of the story with the total daddy moment melted my heart, and won me over completely. Not only is it a story about a hot, family oriented, hockey player, from North Carolina, but cheering for the Buckeyes - Yes, please!
I thought that there was more about hockey and about the team politics in this story than the previous book, and it was interesting, I always love a great teamwork, and brotherhood that can create. There were some scenes with the team that were truly funny, it was great to touch base with the cast from the previous books in the series. Ryker and Gray have some hot physical chemistry between them, the sexy scenes between them are smoldering hot! But as they get to know each other better, spent stolen moments with each other, deeper connection is formed, and true feelings get into the play. I wish there would have been more time and opportunity for them to spend time with Ryker's daughters, I would have liked to see that relationship develop in more detail. Hats off to the author how she dealt with the sensitive and difficult topic of divorce. I am not a fan of Hensley, the ex, she was manipulative, and her actions and accusations were questionable, since she was the one who left, and was cheating. But, Ryker, and Gray, had more understanding towards her than I did, and they were very patient and reasonable with her. Ryker was very honest and fair with her, without compromising his own life and relationship. I have been looking forward to Ryker's story, and it didn't disappoint me. If you like sexy stories about hockey players, who love the game, but not as much as they love their family, cherish the strong, independent woman they fall in love with, and are not afraid to show it to the world, you will love Ryker and Gray's story ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Kane takes his job seriously, and he knows from experience that working with Holly usually ends in disaster. Their conflicting approaches could destroy their cover-or worse, get them killed. But when they’re forced to pose as an engaged couple, neither Holly nor Kane are prepared for the possibility of an unexpected attraction…or that they’re now putting their lives and their hearts on the line.
Lots of fun banter and bickering, steamy attraction, and dangerous situations created a story that was hard to put down.
Holly and Cane seemed to be total opposites, and they didn't play well together, since Holly liked to be spontaneous, and Kane planned everything, and wanted to go by the book. This was a different kind of suspense story, since they didn't work for the law enforcement, but helped to solve divorce cases and settlements, with any means possible, skating on both sides of the law if necessary. When one of these cases goes all wrong, mafia gets involved, and follows them to their home field, things get potentially deadly dangerous. But the suspense and action were often in the background to the romantic development between the agents, and the dangerous moments were lacking in intensity at times. The story is very entertaining, I liked Holly and Kane together, their interaction. All the characters were well thought out, and had layers to them, that spiked the interest. There were lots of baggage they both were carrying, when it came to relationships, but they were like magnets to each other, couldn't stay away. And even though the bickering went on and on at times, when it counted, they had each others back, they were there for each other for support, and took care of each other. Refreshingly different storyline, including lots of action, danger, and fun with the agents. The romance is sizzling, and the characters willing to work on their issues, and even Holly's circus family get to play a part ~ Four Spoons
Sharron likes to blow things up, dabble with Armageddon and sometimes, just sometimes, crash an airplane. In books, people – in books! And while it sounds all action adventurish (it is), there’s steamy hot romance for balance.
The inspiration for many of her earlier books springs from her background in Archeology. Sharron graduated with a degree in Archeology form the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After spending several years in the field searching for ancient artifacts and burials, she was decided writing about it would be way more interesting than digging in the dirt. So in 2001 she hung up her shovel and decided to focus her efforts on writing action adventure romance, combining her love of archeology with her interest in romance the genre. She’s been blowing things up ever since. For More Information Visit Sharron’s website.
A renegade cop seeks justice…
After his daughter’s brutal murder, former NYPD detective Kadin Tandy opens Wyoming’s Dark Alley Investigations to bring violent criminals to justice. Romance is the last thing on the sexy PI’s troubled mind. That is, until feisty ad exec Penny Darden asks for his help. Now he’s investigating her estranged boyfriend’s frightening link to a murder. And despite her relationship status, Penny’s fierce independence and frank flirtation revive Kadin’s damaged heart. But as an untraceable killer closes in on them, they rely more on each other as the stakes become more harrowing. Not only are their lives at risk, but also their best shot at love…
There were lots of things happening in this story, both from the mystery side and from the personal, the romance side. The intense beginning of the book pulled me in, and took me for a wild, at times scary, ride.
The mystery is well built, there are several twists in the plot, things that brought lots of tension and scare into the tale. The suspects, as well as cases, kept piling. And deadly confrontations, attempts to kill both Penny and Kadin kept happening. The question of 'who done it', who was behind the murder, and who was covering for it kept going on in my mind, well built suspense, indeed. The romance was heartbreaking, because both Kadin and Penny had baggage, that they haven't dealt with. Yes, they were attracted to each other, physically, but were they healed enough to have a lasting relationship, and could they ever be? I loved how well they worked together, trying to solve the cases, how they were there for each other, despite everything else going on between them. I also liked that there was not an easy solution to their conflict and issues, but they actually worked on them, talked to people about them, faced the fears, uncomfortable confrontations. There were a couple things I was surprised about, like unprotected sex, and a woman drinking wine while pregnant, just health issues I wanted to point out, no more no less. Well built thrilling suspense, and a romantic saga filled with drama, passion, and family issues, providing solid entertainment ~ Four Spoons
HE CAN SAY NO TO EVERYONE BUT HER...
Nate Marshall used to be a yes-man... until being so agreeable cost him dearly. But Eden Quinn has a way of getting him to reconsider his "just say no" policy. Which is how a bunch of troubled teens end up at his ranch for the weekend. Nate can't help but be attracted to the woman who keeps them in line. This cowboy knows Eden's no damsel in distress, yet hers isn't a one-woman job. If she must do everything on her own, how can he help her... let alone get her to fall for him? This story truly does warm your heart. The stories of the boys, their healing, learning, and living was interesting. How some people were willing to put everything out there to help them, to get an even footing in the life was commendable, admirable. I love Nate, he is such a solid, good man. Always kind, considerate, helpful, and sweet. There's absolutely nothing not to like about him. How he went all out for Eden and the boys was wonderful, I wish there were more people like him in the world. Eden, with all her own baggage, was wonderful with the boys. The sacrifices she made to provide them with tender loving care was amazing. I admire her dedication, devotion, and commitment. But she's not perfect by any measure, she is stubborn and needs to be in control in every situation. And I mean in every situation, even when putting new sheets on the beds. The way she behaved around Nate was unexplainable, compared to the rest of the time. I didn't really even get the conflict that built up between them, what was she thinking?! Her attitude got old fast, and it lasted for way too long. After all Eden put Nate through, the ending seemed rushed. I wasn't convinced she had dealt with her baggage, as she should have. I also wanted to know more about Thomas' future and fate, I felt like the issue was left hanging. Overall, I enjoyed the story, there was so much love and care for the boys, the days and tasks at the farm, the huge family that seemed to fold them into their embrace. The romance building between Nate and Eden was left on the back burner through most of the story, but it didn't take away anything from the enjoyment of the tale. ~ Four Spoons
After quitting her first “real” job, Janine Pike takes off for Europe, saving an excursion to the famed Isola del Sole for last. But when her travel-mates sail off with her backpack, phone, and passport after a night of partying, she’s left only with the euros in her pocket and the faint hope that her estranged half-sister, who works at the renowned Hotel Dei Fiori Isola del Sole, might help her.
Shel Myerson, amateur racecar driver and wildly successful TV mogul, oozes wealth and prestige. What he doesn’t have much of is privacy, thanks to a recent and ugly public breakup. What he doesn’t expect is to be mistaken as an employee by a very pretty—and very broke—Janine, the one person in Europe who also doesn’t have any idea who he is. Shel and Janine discover their chemistry is combustible—but will their budding relationship survive the heat once the press catches on?
Janine faces the worst nightmare of anyone traveling, waking up at the beach, with all her belongings gone, including her phone, money, and passport.
Thankfully the hotel close by, is the one where her long lost half sister is working. But she is on a business trip, not to be found. In walks handsome, charming man, who seems to have a handle with everything, and shows her around the glamorous hotel, finds a place to stay, her sister's things to use, and a job at the bar. So convenient, how smoothly all works out... Like the best dream after the nightmare, when Shel shows her the life of luxury. But of course, nothing is what it seems, and it doesn't take long for the dream to end, and reality to step in. There were several fun things about this light and entertaining fairytale story, that I liked. Shel and Janine truly have this dream like couple days, where they have an adventure of a lifetime, get to know each other, and fall for each other completely. Janine gets to meet her sister, they have a chance to talk about their lives, share about the feelings about the sisterhood, their father, and how they got to be where they are now. I liked how easy, natural it was for them to connect and find the right tone with each other. Also, I loved how the cocktails, played in the story, that Janine was mixing. It gave a nice spice to it, a punch line, if you wish. The temperamental, kind, and delightful staff of the hotel, whom has been entertaining for the both installments of the series so far was a hoot. The story might be light and fast read, but it had some great elements to it, that allure the reader, and take them away into this dreamlike world. A perfect weekend read during the last days of the summer ~ Four Spoons

âMilk?â she asks again.
I take another bite of cereal, and it takes all of my self-control not to look pointedly at the bowl of cereal Iâm eating. Of course we have freaking milk. âIn the fridge,â I say with a friendly smile. She smiles back and sheâs got deep dimples in each cheek. Cute. I can see why Ben likes this one. She walks past the table to the fridge, and I cringe when I see the fact that she has airhead monogrammed on the butt of her baby blue sweatpants. Really? Really? Airhead has apparently forgotten that she wanted milk and instead pulls out one of the cans of Starbucks iced coffee that I keep stocked for Monday mornings when I need an extra pick-me-up, which is every Monday, because, well, Mondays are just the worst, arenât they? Airhead pops the tab and takes a sip without asking, which I guess is kind of annoying, but Iâve never really been one of those girls who likes to waste energy getting bitchy about stupid things, so I let it go. âHey, so Iâm Parker,â I say. âIâm Liz. Are you dating Benâs roommate?â Considering I know for a fact that Liz is the latest in a rather impressive streak of one-night stands, dating seems sort of a presumptuous word choice, because how does she know Iâm not just a onetime sleepover guest like her? This, too, I let pass without comment. I mean, what else is the girl supposed to ask: Did you get drunk and sleep with a guy you barely know, like I just did? Plus, I have a fun surprise for her. âI am the roommate,â I say, keeping my smile friendly. Iâm wearing my oldest pajamas and havenât even pretended to have tried to take off last nightâs mascara, which is now all over my face. Iâm pretty sure I donât look threatening. But Iâd be wrong. Liz pauses halfway in, drinking my precious iced-coffee beverage, and her previously curious expression turns wary. I mentally shrug. Ben tends to use my unisex name to full advantage by avoiding female pronouns when referring to his roommate while a booty call is in progress. He picked up this approach after several hookups that failed due to the fact that some girls still subscribe to the old girls-and-guys-canât-be-just-friends axiom. Amateurs. Ben ambles into the kitchen, his sweatpants matching the style of his girl toyâs, although his are dark UO green, and instead of a tacky phrase on the back, they just have the Oregon Duck, our old college mascot. We graduated a couple years ago, so the frat-boy attireâs a little sad, but I canât judge him too harshly since my entire workout wardrobe consists of old college shirts. He yawns and smiles. âMorning. Have you girls met? Liz, Parker, Parker, Liz.â Benâs either unaware of the fact that Liz is giving him a dark look or he no longer cares now that heâs gotten laid. Hereâs the other reason I donât exactly get my rocks off thinking about Ben in a romantic light: Heâs kind of a player. As a friend, I can love him for it, but on the romantic front? Never. Ever. Not even with every possible STD test. âHey, what happened to the must-wear-shirts-in-the-kitchen rule?â I ask, shoveling another bite of increasingly soggy Wheat Chex into my mouth. âNo such rule exists,â he says, with a wink for Liz-slash-Airhead. Her expression softens lightly, and I resist the urge to slap a little sense into the poor girl. I want to tell her that his winks are a dime a dozen, but whatâs the point? She has airhead printed on her sweatpants for Godâs sake. âThere is too a rule about shirts in the kitchen,â I insist. âHouse rule number fourteen. Speaking of which, where are my house rules?â âHard to say,â he says, opening the fridge and glancing at its meager offerings before pouring a cup of coffee instead. âBut I may have used them to mop up OJ the other day. Or maybe as a coaster for my beer.â He snapped his fingers. âOh wait, no, I remember. I just plain threw them out the old-fashioned way.â I point to the doorway. âShirt. Now.â He glances at Liz. âShe canât concentrate when my abs are on display. We have to give her anti-swoon pills.â Liz giggles even as she shoots me a searching look, as though sheâs trying to determine whether I really will swoon over Benâs admittedly impressive upper body. The guyâs like a machine. He misses workouts only on the worst of his hangover days. âDo you wanna grab some breakfast?â Liz asks Ben. Aww, poor Airhead. She doesnât know the name of the game. |
