Mikhail Lysenko, a tall, dark, and deadly corporate shark, is buying up ailing companies during the financial crisis worldwide, cherry-picking the best parts, and disposing of the dead wood.
Lindsay Carlisle is a sexy, long-legged, ruthless lawyer whose client is determined to hold out against a Lysenko take-over.
And when Mikhail’s laser business focus hones in on Lindsay and becomes personal, very personal, she doesn't know whether his interest is genuine or a means of undermining her client's case. Regardless, there's no way she’s going to be added to the list of women who’ve jumped into the sexy millionaire’s bed. Trying to resist Mikhail and keep work her priority is more than enough to deal with, but then someone begins anonymously sending Lindsay roses… black roses. As a love token? Or something more sinister? She may have to run into Mikhail’s arms and allow him to save her from her secret admirer..
Short and passionate story, with lots of emotions, and insta-lust.
The desire Mikhail and Lindsay have for each other is tangible in the air, from the first moment they are in the same scene. The graphic thoughts, and conversations, they have, building up for their fulfillment of their fantasies, goes into the details, as well as the sex-a-thon they have afterwards.
Yes, Lindsay says 'no' to him, but that just seems to raise the heat between them.
Mikhail, or Mischa (bear in Russian) as he likes her to call him in bed, is arrogant, forceful, even rude at times, commanding, overpowering, who has never heard the word no before... But he is also caring, thoughtful, protective, and affectionate, when Lindsay needs it. His Mikhail/Mischa changing trait is a bit odd, like a split personality, that I don't think was meant to be amusing, even though I did find humor in it.
Lindsay is a junior status lawyer, she is goal oriented, focusing on her career, and reeling from her former boyfriends cheating ways. Her instant lust and desire towards Mikhail has woken up her fantasies and desires like never before, leaving her hazy with longing.
When danger and menace comes to her door, Mikhail is there to protect her, to take care of her, and ultimately, step in front of the danger to save her.
The ending took me completely by surprise, I wasn't quite ready for that bombshell.
But overall, it is a steaming hot, graphic story, filled with sensual thoughts and actions, mixed with a bit of danger, and few surprises
