Someone is feeding the Feds information on alleged illegal activities at the Franklin Everly law firm, and Carino Montgomery is targeted as a prime suspect. There’s enough evidence to put her in the hot seat when hired gun, Ramon Terrones, arrives to uncover the mole.
But from the moment they meet, Ramon relentlessly pursues Carino, triggering a whirlwind romance packed with fierce emotions … and secrets that won’t remain buried. Both Ramon and Carino have worked hard to put their pasts behind them, but the truth could bring their whole lives crumbling down. Will their unlikely relationship be worth sacrificing everything they’ve worked for? Or will their secrets prove to be bigger than their love?
Dynamic, powerful, and complex characters, mixed in a web of lies and secrets, and illegal activities.
The plot and setting for the story is original, and entangled. No one is what they seem to be, and who they claim to be, no one is to be trusted. But against all the odds, Carino and Ramon find a connection with each other, that is real, and sensual. The romance and heat between them is actual, and the attraction palpable, but the story is 'clean'. With all the lies coming down at once, after years of undercover work, the tension rises. There's a lot of inner thoughts, and reflection, and a bit of repetition in them, that takes away from the possible intensity of the situation, and makes the story move slower than necessary. Still with all the plot twists and turns, and even surprises, the tale keep its interest and intrigue, with an ending that is unusual. A bold choice for a hero from the author, with a heroine who knows what she wants, and is not afraid to make the decisions. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

When sexy Mikhail stops curvy Amber Dawson from falling face-first on the sidewalk, she can’t believe she hasn’t noticed the gorgeous Russian before in the small Wyoming town of Coldwater Springs.
She realizes she’s neglected everything lately because of her new promotion at the local boutique and vows to have more fun in her life! But when her horse bites her, she takes him to Mikhail, the only available horse trainer in town. Mikhail can’t seem to get enough of her - or her curves. Is he really falling for her? Will Amber let her insecurities about her figure stand in the way, or will she take a chance on love?
The Coldwater Springs series has been my go-to series, when I need a 'light snack' between emotionally heavy reading, or need a quick, fun, entertaining story to hold me over, while traveling or waiting for appointments etc.
Amber is a curvy, big, beautiful woman, but doubting herself, when it comes to men. Not really comfortable in her body. The sexy new wrangler in town, Mikhail, meets Amber and falls for her immediately. The romance starts to bloom, and it takes some time for Mikhail to convince Amber, that he loves her just the way she is, with curves and all. It is a sweet and passionate novella, with a short visit from the girls in the previous books. But even though a part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone story. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
When Evangeline Lockwood witnesses the murder of a prominent politician, the killers will do everything they can to make sure she can't testify. Since Evangeline's father was once Deputy Director of the CIA, he knows just who to call to protect his only daughter—MacKenzie Security.
The last thing Cal Colter wants is to get stuck with a babysitting job, but Declan MacKenzie has assigned him the task and he has no choice but to accept. Cal especially doesn't know what to do with the quirky computer nerd who covers her lush body in baggy clothes and her stunning violet eyes behind glasses. But if Cal knows anything, it's women, and he's just as determined to peel back the layers of this unusual woman as he is to keep her alive.
The story starts well, intense scene from the past, where groundwork is laid down for the story to come, I got excited and my hopes got up, but unfortunately, the story didn't deliver, and I was left wondering.
Evie and Cal seemed interesting, but their characters didn't get much development, and they fell flat. There was so much potential with them at the beginning, I don't think they got what they deserve. Also Evie is 30 years old, and behaves rather like a teenager, and being so super smart, not seeing the true error of her ways when she was younger, just surprised me. The sex scenes are explicit, and detailed, even though the emotional connection was not built up again, after 10 year separation. The suspense and action part seemed like an afterthought, the ending was so rushed, they even forgot to check if the villain was still alive, these 'best of the best' agents. Right. The scenes with Shane MacKenzie were interesting for those following the series, like I have, but they were interruptions from the main storyline, and took away from Evie and Cal. When you add all the editorial mistakes, (thing I usually don't mention, since I often read an advanced reader copies, and those are not final, print ready copies of the book,) I was floored. To pay $4.99 for a novella, that has light and rushed storyline, and little to no editing, I just have to wonder what happened to one of my favorite series. Sorry, but this wasn't what I expected at all, for the beginning of the story ~ Two Spoons
Curvy waitress Valentine Brewster needed to make some money--and fast!
Overhearing that her secret high-school crush, Gage Forrester, has lost his ranch house cook, she nervously approaches the red-hot rancher. She's always wanted to get paid for something she loved to do--cooking. This job might be the lucky break she's been looking for. But can she convince Gage she's more than just another employee? That she just might be what he's been looking for all of his life? Gage Forrester had been abandoned again! First by the woman he'd planned to marry and now his long-time cook. His ranch hands were getting ready to revolt if he didn't find someone who could provide them three--edible--squares a day. Valentine was known for her award-winning pies and cakes at the county fair, but did she have enough experience to keep a hungry cowboy satisfied? She certainly has enough curves to satisfy his hunger! Review:
Fun, quick, and hot story!
Valentine is not a size 2, she is a woman with curves, and she is comfortable with it herself. She is perky, sassy, and knows what she wants: she wants to cook, and preferable to Gage, the man she has had a crush since school days. Gage has noticed, and admired Valentine for a long time, but he knows Valentine is a woman for long term relationship, and those are not on Gage's plans. But when Valentine starts to work on his ranch, she is all he can think, and dream, about. And as they get snowed in the cabin out on the prairie, things get out of hands, the passion they have for each other cannot be denied. They have one night of endless passion. But is Gage ready to commit, or will Valentine get her heart broken? It was entertaining, one evening read, the characters are fresh, fun, and enjoyable. The story is sweet, cute and delightful, and the tale has a pleasing ending. Just a joy to read for a rainy night ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
Stay for Me
These Three Words # 1 By: Carlene Love Flores Released February 14th, 2015 Evernight Publishing
One night to finally make it right before it all gets torn apart…
Two years ago, best friends Emma Chester and Sam Jason tried being intimate. Due to Sam’s massive size, it didn’t work. Embarrassed, they did their best to move on. Now the day has come where Emma must suspend Sam as a dancer at the club they work at, awakening the buried pain of that one night. Sam has seen this day coming but is shocked when Emma asks him to strip for her just once before he leaves the club. Allowing himself to feel for her again is too dangerous but she’s clearly not in her right mind and needs him. Can he maintain his restraint and help her? When she hands him his uniform to strip out of, is she handing him her heart? Or is it too tattered to ever belong to him again?
There was something about this room she hated.
And very little else to do inside besides be together. Which he was sure she also must hate after the way he’d hurt her before. He had one word for her and feared like a little girl that saying it would be the one thing to push her away for good. But he had to say it. “No.” This wasn’t a place to enter on the premise that you trusted a person. You either went in here not caring a damn about what might happen, like most of the show patrons he’d brought, or fully aware and in control of yourself. No in between. Sam had watched her toe the line throughout their entire conversation. “I won’t take you in there. You’re not ready. Don’t be stubborn and ask me how I know that. I just do.” “It’s not up to you right now.” Her lips stopped speaking and it was clear that was the last thing she would say until he either followed her in or left her in the hallway, alone. Like fire that realized it was on dry ground and free to burn, the thought of being in there with her jolted his body awake. Years old, buried and desperate desire, came out of hiding. He would put himself through hell to be able to have her and not hurt her. But standing directly behind Emma as she unlocked and opened the black door, he saw how he still engulfed her. From her petite shoulders came a giant heave as she took the first step inside. In that instant, he knew she was wrong. He could and should choose not to go inside, but he did have something to show her. That she was safe when they were together. He couldn’t believe that was what this had turned into but found some small ground to stand on and be thankful. He wouldn’t piss this opportunity away. A man took responsibility for his actions, no matter how far in the past they’d happened and how much time he’d spent racking up distance, hiding. Sam would be the ambassador of control and restraint once they were on the other side of this door. He had to prod her forward the next step. And the next, which set off a mile-long trail of red flags. He waited and let her be the one to turn and close the door. As soon as he heard it click, he slid his hands inside the tight pants pockets and held them there. The room was dark and chilly; her breathing echoed in his ears. He went in search of the light switch. The low bulb setting purposely only lit the room one shade lighter but it was enough to see the shadow dampening her pretty face. “Okay,” she said out loud, like she was her own coach. “Okay.” “We’re out of here, Emma. Now.” She held up her small hand and he’d have latched onto it had his hands been available. “No. We’re not leaving. I’m fine. I just needed a second,” she said. That wasn’t her “I’ve got this” voice. She was acting and not doing a very bang-up job of it. Sam had no choice but to touch. He fumbled around and found her other hand and took it into his, receiving an instantaneous jolt of comfort. He hoped he affected her the same way but couldn’t be sure. She was awfully still. Emma looked at the neon hands of the wall clock. “We have one hour before the second show lets out,” she said. “I’m assuming you have some plan, Emma.” God, please tell him she had a plan. Because the only one he had was to let go and keep his hands to himself, no matter what. She stared through him and scanned the near nothingness of the room. “I do. I do have one. I want you to strip for me, Sam.”

She’s in over her head and he’s in hot water…
Visiting her friends Ellie and Charlie in Hawaii was supposed to be a much-needed vacation for journalist Justine Simms. But when she learns the notoriously reclusive pro-surfer Chase Ryder is coming out of retirement for a competition, she knows she’s found the perfect exclusive to save her career. Of course, then she learns he’s the gorgeous, secretly nerdy guy who broke her heart a year ago. Will Davenport—aka Chase Ryder—doesn't do interviews. He keeps his real name out of the papers and doesn’t mix his public life with his private. That is, until the still-heartbroken Justine blackmails him into giving her an exclusive. Seeing Justine, stunningly beautiful as ever, brings back all the feelings he had before. But despite their smoldering attraction, nothing has changed since he had to leave her the first time.
A cute novella, full of summer, surfing and love.
Justine and Will had had a short relationship few years back, that had affected both of them greatly, and even though it ended badly, couldn't forget each other. Now they meet again, and the secrets Will had been keeping from her, unravel. Justine gets the break with her career, she had been looking for, but makes a mistake in the process, that puts the relationship in danger again. Will and Justine were great together, the secrets Will had been keeping from everyone had a good base, and I am glad that didn't cause angst between them. The mistake Justine makes is predictable. I'm just glad that the misgiving and anger didn't linger too long. It was a sweet, fun, and a quick read. Made me long for the hot summer days ~ Two Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

But the forces determined to destroy his family won't let them go so easily. Keeping Piper alive is more than he bargained for-and so is his burning desire for her. But with every second bringing him closer to certain death, can he afford to lose himself in her hot and willing embrace?
Amazing story, a thrill ride against time and certain death, while fighting for their lives, to save the brothers...
I was blown away by this story, and its original setup. The genetically enhanced brothers, made in a laboratory, meant to be killing machines, soldiers with no emotions, no human weaknesses, had higher sensitivity to all senses, abilities that went beyond understanding. Their loyalty, love, trust, and connection to each other was nothing short of amazing, mind blowing. Their love and protectiveness to the family they built was deep, they put the A into an alpha male. The attraction between Piper and Jory was immediate. Despite the deathly circumstances they were in, their feelings for each other grew and deepened. Her sass and stubbornness, with his bossiness and protective nature created many humorous scenes, with the geek in them bonding them on a different level. Their passion for each other was sensual, hot, and sexy. The desperation to keep the brothers alive touching. With fierce and brutal action, constant twists in the plot, and machination by the commander, the story moved fast, the clock ticking on the capsules in the Dean brother's spines. So much into this story, and the series, a true pearl to be found indeed. The beginning of the story took me a little time to get into it, but once the scene was set, the story took off, and I had to finish it in one sitting. Completely unique storyline, that just has to be experienced to grasp the idea behind this marvelous series ~ Five Spoons!
Secrets, lies, deception. That's what it takes to stay alive.
At 20, Julia Taylor went to prison for murdering a man who deserved it. Ten years later, she's ready to put the past behind her and get on with her life. But someone won't let her. Someone will do anything to drive Julia away, including murder. As the body count rises, Julia is forced to accept the help of Dylan Andrews, a cop with dark secrets of his own. Unfortunately help has a cost. Dylan is digging into Julia's past, uncovering secrets she is desperate to keep. Julia must keep Dylan at a distance, or else risk her own safety, and the safety of everyone she loves… An original plot in a story that took me for emotional roll-a-coaster. The author paints a picture of the events in a clever way, you can see it all happening, you are right there with the characters. Julia had gone through so much, and wanted to just leave it all behind, and start her life anew. But it isn't that easy in the small town in the Australian Blue Mountains, where everyone knows each other, and all are aware of the past. The adjustment back to normal life wasn't easy, even though Julia was doing her best. And when trouble started to find her in every corner, it just got more difficult. There are so many secrets, everyone has one. There wasn't a character in the story, that didn't have major struggles in their life. That started to seem a bit overwhelming after a while. Dylan and Julia were attracted to each other from the first moment they meet, but their situation seems impossible. He is a police officer, she is on parole for murder, and more bodies start to show up, and all the murders are somehow connected to Julia. With all the secrets unraveling, investigations going on, and family drama to be dealt with, not to mention Julia's adjustment to the life outside, the romance between Dylan and Julia doesn't get that much focus, it is developing more on the back burner, and left for happy for now. The mystery behind all the murders, the drug running, and other crimes committed in the small town, seems to all point into one person. There's enough plot twists in the story to keep it interesting, even though the story moves on rather slowly. At the end, all the events are twisted in together, and some of the crimes and mysteries are solved, with one major criminal still on a run. The story was interesting, maybe some editing to tie it more together, would have made it move a bit faster, and I wanted just one person in the story to not have any major issues with them, but I guess this way, it was more lifelike. The romance was believable, real, and honest. I'm glad Dylan didn't choose to hide his feelings at the end, but came forward, no matter what the cost. Lots of drama and crimes in the tale, that kept the interest to the end ~ Three spoons with a teaspoon on the side
Friends with benefits was never the plan…
Melanie Jacobs is in trouble. With three jobs—including running her ranch—and dwindling funds, she’s exhausted. Not to mention desperately trying to hide a secret. Unfortunately, her best friend Colton Freeze knows all too well that’s something is going on, and he won’t give up until he knows exactly what he needs to fix. Then Colton learns the truth—that Melanie’s future happiness rests in the fickle hands of fate, and her chances for having a family are shrinking with every passing day. Her only comfort is Colton, but when a heated argument between them turns into an even hotter kiss, the boundaries of their friendship are erased, leaving only a scorching-hot hunger for more. Every kiss—every touch—is a stolen pleasure. But will their new friends-with-sexy-benefits arrangement bring them closer together, or destroy everything they once shared?
The author's engaging, humorist way of writing pulled me right into the middle of this beautifully flowing story, and I kept reading until the wee hours of the morning and 'the end'.
Melanie and Colton have chemistry off the charts. They are fun, energetic, best friends since preschool, until that one day when everything changes, and the attraction hits them, hard. The storyline is fresh and original. I adored the whole gang of the small town, not to mention the big family of the Freeze. They are caring, charismatic, meddling, and made me laugh out loud. And while the characters are attractive and successful, they are still humans with flaws, and who make mistakes. Melanie and Colton are scorching hot together, the heat level is high, but it is very well written, fits the story, and helps the plot to move along. Their tempers flare, the sheet are burning, they laugh, take care of each other, and Colton's alpha male side has a true match with Melanie, who knows him inside out, and takes no crap from him. I truly enjoyed this story, it is entertaining, the romance while scorching hot, also adoring and sweet. The family, the friends, the town folks, are all pure enjoyment ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Until an unexpectedly royal revelation threatens to strip Jed of his freedom and future – including his place by Dee’s side.
Emotional and fast pace moving story of a second chance at love.
The teenage love Jed and Dee shared for each other never had a chance, leaving them for pining for each other as life moved on, even though never completely fulfilling for them. The emotional tension and anxiety when they meet again is high, and those emotions keep running up and down, as Jed and Dee struggles to set their priorities, to find their place in life, and love. The surprising revelations, from their past and the possible future, keep the story moving. The characters are easy to like and relate to. The modern day fairytale is touching and heartfelt, I was teary eyed at times, smiling at the end, a lovely, tender novella ~ Three spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Remy and Mitchell join forces to find her friend and uncover a human trafficking organization in the darkest heart of Virginia Beach while their attraction for each other burns hotter than the sun
Riveting suspense, scorching hot romance, and entertaining brotherhood of the SEAL team, is a winning mix of the tale.
Remy and Mitchell have felt the attraction to each other for a long time, after acting on it after Mitchell's boyfriend's funeral, the guilt made them go their separate ways. But now Remy is back in the States, and they have a date planned. But Mitchell is missing. The action is absorbing, exciting, and scary. The human traffic ring is merciless, and prepared to protect their assets. The SEAL team works together effortlessly and smoothly. The banter between the teammates made me laugh out loud, they are very competitive and entertaining. The romance between Remy and Mitchell is sexy. They have waited for so long for the chance to be together, and now that it is happening, it is hot, a bit kinky, and yet sweet, since the feelings are deep and genuine, and they have the desire to make it work on the long run, no matter what. Lively and entertaining novella, where the suspense is moving at high speed, the romance is forever kind, and friend's loyalty is something you don't need to question. ~ Four Spoons
Maggie MacKenzie wants nothing more than to hold her own child in her arms. But after three years of marriage, she and Riley have yet to conceive. The heartbreak of disappointment is almost more than she can stand.
Riley MacKenzie would do anything for his wife, and watching the sadness fill her eyes every time she holds a new niece or nephew is torture. He decides what Maggie needs is a no stress vacation where they can concentrate on—certain bedroom matters. But their vacation ends up mirroring the first time they met in more ways than one, and they realize that spontaneity is sometimes the best way to get what you want
MacKenzie brothers were the first stories I read from Liliana Hart, they are fun, attractive, charismatic, and hot. Family is the main focus for them, so I can only imagine the heartbreak for Riley and Maggie, that they hadn't had a child yet.
Maggie makes a surprise trip to Egypt, while Riley is working there, and instead of trying to get pregnant, they reunite in an intimate and loving way. And it is as explosive as always. The heat level is high, the sheets are burning, the air sizzling. But not only is the passion wild, things at the archaeological dig is unstable, looters are around, one staff member is missing, and the only person Riley can trust his wife Maggie. The novella is a quick, hot, and exiting read, and has just enough drama, danger and thrill, making it into a heady story ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
Ice-cold and unbreakable, Travis Quinn is the HORNET team's hard-ass. No weaknesses. Except, of course, for the accident that not only destroyed his career as a Navy SEAL, but left terrifying blanks in his memory. But Travis remembers everything about Mara Escareno--the curve of her lips, the feel of her body...and how he walked out on her suddenly six weeks ago.
Mara could never resist the dangerously sexy Travis, which is probably how she ended up pregnant and disowned by her family. But before Travis can fully process the news, Mara is kidnapped by his enemies and plunged into the violent, merciless world of human trafficking. They want Travis--and the information locked within his damaged memory--no matter the cost. And now Travis's enemies have discovered his only weakness...Mara
I have read so many of the military books, where the heroes are broken, but don't recall anyone quite as shattered as Quinn. My heart went out to him, his childhood, his chance with adoptive parents, his life and health, fear of not being enough... It all was just too much for one man to carry and handle. His golden heart, caring for others, always sacrificing for others, he is the perfect hero in his broken shell and soul.
Mara had fallen in love with this broken man, and now they would be bonded for the rest of their lives, because of the baby. And I understand she was pregnant, and had always let everyone walk over her before, but the mood swings, and back and forth with Quinn -- really got to me after a while. There's plenty of action, running for their lives, and trying to save Mara, at any cost. I loved that there was so much dialog, I always enjoy that. But I wish there would have been more describing of the scenery. I could not set myself into the story, many of the scenes I had to get back and try to understand what, where, why, cause I just didn't get that from the story. As always, I enjoy the camaraderie of the men. The friendship between Gabe and Quinn was something to cherish. The connection with the team was amazing, and the sadness Quinn felt for the former SEAL team was another 'heart broke' -moment. With all the dysfunctional elements in the HORNET team, they functioned well, and were willing to take the bullet for each other, so admirable. You can't always choose your blood relations, but you can build a family of those who love you and are willing to stand by you in all the moments of your life. Even though I had a hard time getting into the story, that message came through loud and clear ~ Three Spoons
HIS CHANCE AT REDEMPTION
Former parole officer Mick Hudson blames himself for the death of Keeley Stevens's sister. If he hadn't paroled a criminal, she might still be alive. When he hears that the suspected killer has been spotted in Keeley's hometown, he worries she might be the next victim. Keeley doesn't want to take help from the man who could have prevented her sister's death, but she has more than herself to worry about. She'll do anything it takes to protect her family. And Mick will risk his life to make sure that the past does not repeat itself. Wings of Danger: The path to love is treacherous.
Constant action and danger ridden suspense, with an intriguing plot, that kept changing the elements, had me glued onto my Kindle. As the events unfold, it seems the heroine has no place that's safe, no one who she can trust completely, everyone seems to have secrets of their own, and a different reason to get to the goal: capture the guilty culprit in the murder of Keeley sister. But nothing is what it seems, and Keeley has no choice, but reluctantly accept Mick's help.
At times running for their lives, at times hunting for the clues to capture the murderer, Mick and Keeley learn to trust each other, and work together. The struggle the characters have with their guilt and the sorrow of their loss is raw and real. The way they seek God in the midst of the crisis, His forgiveness, and acceptance of their flaws, was heartfelt. The attraction, but more so the feelings, that grow between Mick and Keeley are tender, sweet, and fragile. The development of their relationship, as well as the relationship Mick has with Keeley's daughter, was adorable. This story swept me with it, I found all the elements of the story enjoyable, well developed and played out ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

A stardust of magic and visions of the future might have brought them together, but after the adventure is over, is the reality enough to keep them with each other?
Intriguing concept with this story, of old history, haunted mask, and how the mask brought Sienna and Rhys together, to bring justice of the crimes against the Iñupiat tribe. Sienna and Rhys are steaming hot together, the connection might have been brought on by a bit of magic, but they hold it in real and raw even without it. The love scenes are sizzling, the attraction clear. When Sienna's insecurities try to hinder them, Rhys' patient and understanding is admirable and sweet. Working together they get to know each other, and feelings get heated and deep fast. The adventure to solve the crimes is full of danger and speed, the threat to Sienna's life constant. The visions in multiverse, or alternative dimensions, guide them to the culprits, but also brings pain and fear of events to come. Lots of fascinating prehistoric information, exotic arctic midnight sun, compelling characters, alluring magic powers, and captivating action. Let your imagination free, and let the thrill ride begin ~ Four Spoons |
