Kane takes his job seriously, and he knows from experience that working with Holly usually ends in disaster. Their conflicting approaches could destroy their cover-or worse, get them killed. But when they’re forced to pose as an engaged couple, neither Holly nor Kane are prepared for the possibility of an unexpected attraction…or that they’re now putting their lives and their hearts on the line.
Lots of fun banter and bickering, steamy attraction, and dangerous situations created a story that was hard to put down.
Holly and Cane seemed to be total opposites, and they didn't play well together, since Holly liked to be spontaneous, and Kane planned everything, and wanted to go by the book. This was a different kind of suspense story, since they didn't work for the law enforcement, but helped to solve divorce cases and settlements, with any means possible, skating on both sides of the law if necessary. When one of these cases goes all wrong, mafia gets involved, and follows them to their home field, things get potentially deadly dangerous. But the suspense and action were often in the background to the romantic development between the agents, and the dangerous moments were lacking in intensity at times. The story is very entertaining, I liked Holly and Kane together, their interaction. All the characters were well thought out, and had layers to them, that spiked the interest. There were lots of baggage they both were carrying, when it came to relationships, but they were like magnets to each other, couldn't stay away. And even though the bickering went on and on at times, when it counted, they had each others back, they were there for each other for support, and took care of each other. Refreshingly different storyline, including lots of action, danger, and fun with the agents. The romance is sizzling, and the characters willing to work on their issues, and even Holly's circus family get to play a part ~ Four Spoons
Sharron likes to blow things up, dabble with Armageddon and sometimes, just sometimes, crash an airplane. In books, people – in books! And while it sounds all action adventurish (it is), there’s steamy hot romance for balance.
The inspiration for many of her earlier books springs from her background in Archeology. Sharron graduated with a degree in Archeology form the University of Alaska Fairbanks. After spending several years in the field searching for ancient artifacts and burials, she was decided writing about it would be way more interesting than digging in the dirt. So in 2001 she hung up her shovel and decided to focus her efforts on writing action adventure romance, combining her love of archeology with her interest in romance the genre.
