The First Time At Firelight Falls by Julie Anne Long
Series Hellcat Canyon Series Genre Adult Contemporary Romance Publisher Avon Books Publication Date May 29, 2018
Single mom Eden Harwood has a lively daughter, a blooming business—and a juicy secret she’s hung on to for ten years. She doesn’t mind a bit that there’s no room for romance in her whirlwind life . . . until six-foot-infinity, smoldery-eyed, bass-voiced Gabe Caldera reminds her of what she might be missing.
The principal of Hellcat Elementary is usually knee-deep in fawning PTA moms, but Gabe only has eyes for the fiery, funny, skittish redhead who barely knows he’s alive. But this ex-Navy SEAL never fails to get what he wants. And what he wants is to fan those sparks between him and Eden into the kind of bonfire you can see two counties away. The passion is explosive . . . and the tenderness has them thinking about forever. But when Eden’s past waltzes into town for a reckoning, her secret blows them apart. Still, Gabe will never back down from a fight . . . especially if the ultimate prize is Eden’s heart. “Julie Anne Long’s writing glows with emotional intensity.” --New York Times Bestselling Author Jayne Anne Krentz
She was a devil woman.
“I’ll kiss anything you want me to.” He made it sound like a blood vow. She gasped when he slid his hand up through her hair and held her fast. This time he went in for a take-no-prisoners kiss, designed to melt bones, stop time, erase the memories of all kisses that had come before, what-the-fuck-did-they-have-to-lose kind of kiss. Molten, savage, skillful. They were on the clock. He was a guy who knew how to make a point, and he never half-assed anything. Clearly, neither did she. Silk, heat, tongue, lips—the taste of her roared through his bloodstream, tightened all his muscles. He curled one hand into the edge of his desk, a reflex against floating up to the ceiling, because suddenly whatever boundaries he’d once had melted away. And damn, she gave as good as she got. It was a hot, deep, dangerous tangle of tongues, the slide of lips. When she moaned softly, low in the back of her throat, guttural, helpless pleasure, he slipped his hand from her hair and sank backward into his chair. One second before the bell rang. Love at Last A Standalone Romance By: Claudia Connor Released April 24th, 2018 Easy to love, easy to leave. With her ex-fiance's words, I'm in love with someone else, still ringing in her ears, Clare Franklin flies off on her would-be honeymoon alone. Resigned to the fact that not everyone gets a happily ever after, she's sworn off men. Until she gets tangled up, quite literally, with one very sexy veterinarian. The only thing Dr. Deacon Montgomery is looking to share is his surgical expertise, but his instant attraction to Clare makes him wonder if he could be more than just a doctor, and daddy to his twin two-year old daughters. Sun-filled days and hot, steamy nights only deepens the connection, causing them each to hope for something more. Until one phone call from home changes everything. But a love like theirs is hard to find, and definitely too hard to forget. His wide, warm palm grazed her lower back as they wove their way through the tables to the exit. They crossed over the water garden in silence, slowing as they reached a fork in the path. “Which way?” Deacon asked. “I’ll walk you back.” “That’s sweet, but you really don’t have to. It’s a five-star resort, not downtown Los Angeles.” Deacon kept walking. “True. But you know, I took you to dinner and all.” She arched a brow at him. “It’s also an all-inclusive resort. Maybe I took you.” “Maybe you did.” He flashed her that slightly lopsided grin that hit her right in the chest. She conceded to the walk, and together, they followed the brick path. The resort was dark, but lights along the sidewalk lit the path and shined up the skinny gray trunks of the swaying palms. It was quiet, and when they didn’t pass even one other person, she was glad he was walking her back. She slowed as they came to the breezeway leading to her building and pointed up the steps to the second floor. “I’m up there, so…” Deacon started up the steps. “I’ll walk you to the door. I’m funny like that.” She probably should have said no, insisted that she could make it to her door on her own. Because of course she could. But she didn’t insist, just followed enormously glad she’d removed the HONEYMOON banner from her door. They reached her room, and she turned to face him. Just the two of them now, up here, alone at her door. She felt a slight buzzing in her head that had nothing to do with alcohol. “Well, Clare of the here and now.” She rolled her eyes at the reminder of her earlier word-vomit ramble. “It was nice to meet you.” She stuck out her hand, hoping it wasn’t sweaty. “It was nice to meet you, too.” It didn’t feel like a simple handshake as he wrapped his fingers around hers. “I had fun tonight. You turned what might have been a horrible night into something surprisingly nice.” “I’m glad.” “Thank you for catching me and saving my top and for dinner and talking and…” And maybe she could stop talking. “You’re welcome.” A frog gave a low croak, and another answered, but she figured the pounding of her heart was louder. The buzzing in her head grew louder, and she felt dizzy from looking into his eyes and staring at his lips because she wanted him to kiss her. She wanted to feel those smooth, firm lips on hers, to taste him and feel his arms around her. I'm losing my mind. “You’re beautiful,” he said. “I’ve been wanting to say that all night.” He lifted his hand and lightly brushed his thumb over her cheek. Then he leaned in, and she moved. Just…moved. In and up, her fingers twisting in the front of his shirt. She was just falling into the taste of him, just getting that warm, tingling flood of a first kiss when her brain fully registered that he’d been leaning in to kiss her cheek. “I’m sorry.” She swallowed hard, felt a stinging heat flooding into her cheeks, and wished desperately to disappear. Deacon was staring at her in complete confusion. That made two of them. “I’m… really sorry.” She spun to her door. A stiff wind sang through the open-air hallway, slapping her hair across her eyes. How she got her key in the lock, she had no idea. Mumbling one more apology over her shoulder, she opened the door and closed it behind her. She stood, heart pounding in mortification, her lips buzzing. The champagne glasses and fruit and cheese tray had been cleared. The bed had been turned back, and the damn swans were back, nestled in the center of the bed and kissing right on their terrycloth lips. Tempted by the Viscount
by Sofie Darling
Genre: Historical Romance
Pub Date: June 27th, 2018
London, April 1825
Lord Jakob Radclyffe left his past behind in the Far East. Or so he thinks until a ruthless thief surfaces in London, threatening to ruin his daughter’s reputation. With the clock ticking, Jake needs the scandalous Lady Olivia Montfort’s connections in the art world to protect his daughter’s future.
Olivia, too, has a past she’d like to escape. By purchasing her very own Mayfair townhouse, she’ll be able to start a new life independent from all men. There’s one problem: she needs a powerful man’s name to do so. The Viscount St. Alban is the perfect name.
A bargain is struck.
What Olivia doesn’t anticipate is the temptation of the viscount. The undeniable spark of awareness that races between them undermines her vow to leave love behind. Soon, she has no choice but to rid her system of Jake by surrendering to her craving for a single scorching encounter.
But is once enough? Sometimes once only stokes the flame of desire higher and hotter. And sometimes once is all the heart needs to risk all and follow a mad passion wherever it may lead.
“Am I late?” he asked in a tone that didn’t sound as concerned as his words might have suggested.
“Yes,” she replied, sounding distressingly like Lucy on a petulant day. “My apologies,” he said on a shallow bow, even as his mouth, that talented, efficient mouth of his, maintained its familiar firm line. “No need for apologies, my lord. In fact, your tardiness is promising evidence that you are settling into the viscountcy quite well.” She liked the way his eyes narrowed at her stern tone, a tone she couldn’t help borrowing from Mrs. Bloomquist. “It is the first rule of the nobility. Everyone can wait.” “Then my apologies for not having made you wait longer.” A begrudging smile found its way to her lips. “Now for the second rule of the nobility.” She allowed a beat to pass. A flash of pleasure coursed through her at the very idea that she could hold this glorious man in suspense. It wasn’t every woman who could boast that particular thrill. “Never apologize.” He stepped forward, halving the distance between them, and took another bow. “Again, my apologies.” His gaze pinned her in place, and, like that, the power of the moment shifted to him. Oh, how an unmanageable part of her wanted him to use it. This felt dangerously like flirting. Was she flirting? She was. In the presence of the tease playing about his eyes and mouth, she couldn’t seem to help herself. She tried clearing her throat, hoping to clear her head in the process. He should be more careful with that smile. It could give a woman ideas.
Sofie spent much of her twenties raising two boys and reading every book she could get her hands on. Once she realized that she was no longer satisfied with simply reading the books she loved, that she must write them, too, she decided to finish her degree and embark on a writing career. Mr. Darling and the boys gave her their wholehearted blessing.
When she’s not writing heroes who make her swoon, she runs a marathon in a different state every year, visits crumbling medieval castles whenever she gets a chance, and enjoys a slightly codependent relationship with her beagle, Bosco.

Home on leave, Blue didn’t expect his first meeting with his curvy housemate to happen in quite the way it did - on his back, bare-arsed naked, with just a towel to conceal his modesty. But it did, he has, and now this down-on-his-love-luck Aussie soldier has a mission he didn’t expect. Will he recognise it, pursue it, and win it? Or will his chance at true love pass him by? After SO many books by this author, loving each and all the books, I can't believe it just got even better, even deeper emotions, even more sensual, more angst, more raw moments of pure emotions and feels mixed with delightful banter, and fun, laughing out loud moments! I loved it, loved the connection between the brothers, with the Wells family, and most of all, I loved Blue and Sunflower together, because they were just so so very perfect for each other. Blue and Charley (aka Sunflower) had me swooning and smiling and falling in love with them from the start. They got each other, they had same values and interest, they were comfortable with each other, they had passion, trust, honesty that was just delightful and refreshing, and perfectly swoon-worthy. They talked, they worked, they played, they took care of Kitty, and spend time with family. They lived their lives unapologetically in a way that made me want to cheer for them. I love that in Ms. Verdenius' books the characters from the previous series might pop in for a walkthrough. Like it is here with Sergeant Alex Lawson. Not a big role in the story, but still a connection between the series. But even more, I loved the connection between the Wells family members. The talks Blue has with his brothers and his father choked me up and had tears in my eyes. There were such raw emotions, the protective instinct towards each other. The feelings a family has when they send one of them to the military, the not knowing if they will survive if they will make it home if they will see each other again, it was all the in the background, giving these moments with the loved ones even more meaning. That angst and worry that military families and loved ones go through were drawn with vivid and sharp images, the doubts, the concerns, the fears were evident. And then there was Charlie and Blue, and their tangible attraction, the palpable emotions between them, and the vast passion that had the pages sizzling. The love-making between Blue and Charlie was intense, sensual, tender, detailed, and seriously hot. The love scenes were well done, and such an intricate part of the developing of their relationship, an important, and an amazing, part of the story. Someone said recently that 'meaty' girls do not belong to romance novels, and I could not disagree more with that statement. And Angela Verdenius is one of the authors who proves that statement wrong with her books. The characters are relatable, they likable, they are attractive and sensuous just as they are with their curves and dimples, their worries and fears are what we can relate to, and knowing that they might look a bit like ourselves, well, that is just a bonus. I smiled, I laughed, I sighed, swooned, delighted in the joy of the story, and wept with the longing and real, deep emotions. There was the kind of level of raw emotions in the tale, the kind sensuality, and sweet tenderness, that had a shattering impact on me. Just wonderfully and charmingly done appealing and splendid romance story, a winner in my eyes! ~ Five Spoons!
His mission: Get close to Alice May. Learn her secrets. Expose her lies. And if she's guilty...lock her up. Undercover FBI Agent Zander Todd typically spends his days and his nights tracking killers. But, lately, he's been pretending that he's a different man. He's been working his way into the life of beautiful but reserved Alice May. He's supposed to make her trust him completely. Alice is the key to a serial murder case that the FBI has been working for years. She's also the chief suspect. Alice was engaged to Hugh Collins, the man who turned out to be the elusive "Secret Admirer" killer. Hugh picked women that he thought were perfect, he seduced them, and when they failed to live up to his image of perfection...their Secret Admirer brutally killed them. The only time that Hugh broke his MO--that was with Alice. Hugh was on his way to the chapel to marry Alice when the FBI killed him. The FBI has long suspected that Alice may have been involved in the killings, but they could never find solid evidence to tie her to the crimes. Her goal: Bury her past. Pretend to be someone new. Live a lie. Alice May knows better than to trust a handsome man with a seductive smile. The last time she fell for a charmer, she learned her lover was a serial killer. Not the news a woman expects to learn on her wedding day. Since that brutal revelation, she's sworn off men, she's gone into hiding to get away from voracious reporters, and she hasn't let herself get close to anyone. But...a year has passed since her life fell apart. And it's hard to be alone all the time. She thinks that one night, one date with Zander might remind her of what it's like to be alive. To feel normal. The passion that burns between them is white-hot and electrifying. It's so intense that it scares Alice. She never expected to ever want anyone that much. He will punish her. Their passion ignites the fury of a killer who has been watching her, waiting for her. A man who has finally decided that Alice isn't quite so perfect. And if she's not perfect, then Alice has to die. When Alice's life is threatened, Zander must reveal his true identity. The new betrayal batters at Alice's soul, but when Zander takes her into protective custody, they are forced into close proximity. With a killer watching her every move, Alice has no choice but to trust Zander. Because her past isn't dead, but if Alice isn't very, very careful...she will be. An intense and exasperating story that had me on pins and needles throughout the novella. For the short length of the story, there was a lot of fierce action and danger fit into the tale. The whole idea of the Secret Admirer killer, and the fact that is Alice had had such an intimate relationship with him, was just creepy kind of spookiness that can keep a reader up at night. I liked Alice, she seemed to be a survivor, a true heroine, and a woman who had it together, most of the time, and admiringly, considering what she had gone through. She had kindness and understanding in her that went beyond most, and she had spunk and courage that was impossible not to notice and applaud for. I absolutely LOVED when she turned to the other FBI agent and told him that she did not appreciate his attitude or like him at all. You go, Alice! FBI Agent Zander Todd was in a tough spot. He had lied, he had used Alice's trust to get into her life, to win her over, and in the process, lost his heart for her. Now, the tables are turning, it is Alice who is in danger, it is Alice who needs FBI, and it seems that the unit might not be up to the task to keep her and other victims of the Secret Admirer safe and alive. There's fumbling of the agents to protect those in the killer's way, while there's still doubt in some people's mind if Alice had something to do with the murders. The connection and the romance between Alice and Zander have had time to develop over the months Zander has been undercover on the case and part of Alice's life. That time happens off the pages yet the referrals to it give a believable idea of the bond they have formed over the time. The story was intense, it was fast-paced, and because of the novella length it didn't go as deeply into the characters, the issues, and the solving of the crimes as a full-length novel could have, but I enjoyed the story immensely. I sat down and read it at once, the story was engaging, the characters alluring, and the crimes chilling and fear-inducing. An entertaining and enticing tale! ~ Four Spoons
Someone is after her and her baby... Danger returns to Wrangler's CornerAfter saving Kaylee Martin from abduction and delivering her baby boy on the side of the road, Dr. Joshua Crawford can't get them out of his mind. Unfortunately, neither can Kaylee's violent stalker. He'll stop at nothing to get to the new mom and her child. Can Joshua keep them safe so they can become the family he's dreamed about? With a smart and capable heroine, a sweet and caring hero, dealing with the worst nightmare to any mother, while constant danger lurking around, and life changes at the doorstep, the story has all the elements of a great and entertaining romantic suspense at its hands. I loved that Kaylee Martin, the heroine, was smart with her safety, was careful and considerate of the danger lurking around, and didn't take risks that she would regret later on. She doesn't stubbornly hold her convictions but is willing to see the other side of the matters and be flexible when needed. She has some serious issues from her childhood to be dealt with, to get over the resentment towards her father, and accept the change he has gone through. Joshua Crawford came to town to stop his mother from marrying Kaylee's father, yet Kaylee, and especially her newborn son Joshua delivers, steal his heart and attention. Joshua is an MMA fighting doctor, who loves babies, and whose heart was previously broken by a single mother. He is determined to keep Kaylee and little Duncan safe, he is a kind and sweet man, willing to go to lengths to protect those he cares about. The danger and the threat towards Kaylee and little Duncan are constant. It seems that there is no safe place where the culprits do not find their way into. A bit more edgy fear-factor could have built the tangible intensity to another level, yet the suspense is believable, the action harsh and deadly at the end. The inner turmoil Kaylee goes through, questioning her faith in God, the possible change in her father, the loss of her mother, and then the danger to her child gives the story a measure of angst, tumult, and a chance for her to grow. In midst of all the trouble and danger, the safe haven and shelter Joshua provides to Kaylee in his arms is rather adorable. The connection between them is palpable, as it is between Duncan and Joshua as well. I just wondered through the story, why didn't Kaylee breastfeed her infant, newborn son? From the very first, there is a bottle and formula mix in the picture and I find that curious. A charming and gentle love story with dangerous suspense and action, a dose of threat and angst, with an apprehension of upcoming parental marriage are the elements that deliver an entertaining and engaging tale of love, life, change, and faith. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

DJ SHAWBorn and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1977, DJ Shaw was 17 before she was able to see most of the United States. When she was 17, she decided to join the fair, traveling with them to Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Once the fair arrived in Lake Charles, DJ had decided it was time to go home, that she had had enough of traveling with the fair. She much rather preferred to sit around writing, or even telling, the lives of the people who lived in her head. She had been good at story-telling from the time she was about ten, when she scared herself so bad with her story of the Boogey-man that she couldn’t move off her bed. Her siblings would come to her for their scare fix, because they knew she could come up with something on the spot. Having found what she loved to do at an early age, she continued to write down her stories and any poetry that came into her head. She had stacks upon stacks of notebooks filled with her work. Her love of horror movies made her stories that much more chilling. When she’s not writing, she’s listening to music, supporting her favorite adopted brother and his band “Traveler in Pain”, playing with her five children, spending time with her husband of seven years or watching horror movies in the middle of the night just for the scare factor.
GRACE WHITEGrace White is the paranormal pseudonym of romance writer, L A Cotton. She resides in the UK with her family, and lives for binge watching series on her Firestick, losing herself in a good book, and reliving her younger days through trashy teenage movies … not necessarily in that order.
PEPPER MCGRAWPepper McGraw wishes she were a shifter, but since she wasn’t lucky enough to be born that way, she chooses to write about them instead. She’s an advocate of animal rescue and supports local shelters and Trap-Neuter-Release programs for feral cats. She has had the supreme honor of winning occasional head butts and meows from the local ferals in her neighborhood and even of convincing a few to come inside and adopt her as their own.
A.B. BLOOMA book hoarder and coffee addict by heart Anna Bloom loves to write extraordinary stories about real love.
