One fateful night four years ago, Destiny Rose Porter gave in to her desires and ended up with a shattered heart. A heart that, with time, learned to heal and guard itself. But when Jefferson James Briggs returns to their small hometown of Wishing Well, Texas, memories of that unforgettable night come back with him....
JJ Briggs knew he had started something he couldn't finish four years ago. But now, he was back to set it right. The sexy Major League pitcher never forgot about his fiery redhead. The love and passion he felt for his “Pip” never faded.
They say old wounds cut deep...will JJ be able to heal the pain he caused all those years ago? Or will history repeat itself, keeping his Destiny just out of reach?
The story is scorching hot, fun, full of small town lively energy, and so romantic, with constantly swoon worthy moments that make you sigh...
The connection JJ and Destiny have is undeniable, the ribbing between them is entertaining, the understanding of each other, trust, and desire is rare and raw.
The story is told in first person point of view, by both Destiny and JJ. Even though that is not my favorite POV in the books, the author has done, once again, an amazing job with it, giving a deep, insightful, and honest view to the thoughts and hopes of the lovers, as they are trying to find the road to each others arms, the forever kind of way. The honesty between them is so fresh, complete, and true.
And that road is not as easy as one would think, but they both know what they want, they both are not afraid to go after it, and after several clumsy attempts, they seem to have found the correct path, until the next roadblock.
The emotions are so strong, the will is unwavering. I loved watching these two grow, and get deep into their love, desires, feelings, and affections.
The characters of the small town are humorous and delightful, Grandma Dixie is so charming. Like always in Melanie Shawn's stories, the friends are the true, there for you, the kinds you want to call your BFF, and spent the lifetime with, sharing joy, sorrow, and laughter.
Great start for the new series, I am looking forward to more of sweet, sexy, and scrumptious stories from Wishing Well, Texas!
